      Hi Bigfoot

Think we can forget abt the AMK central shop. I just went and they don't have laced up shoes for kids this young. Dunno why Maris Stella wants to make our boys wear laces so young when other schools can continue with velcro?? So hard to find shoes with laces this small... guess must spend big money on Reebok or Adidas white shoes if Bata has no stock.
Thanks for the info. I am still lazy to go out and look for his shoes. Guess he will stick to his velcro shoes until we have time to go shoes shopping. I definitely am not going to spend too much on his shoes. So will wait for Bata to restock. 🙂

P2 boys can still wear their existing P1 velcro shoes until they grow out of it. But I think most are quite proud to wear laced shoes once they are on it to disassociate themselves from the \"junior\".

Thanks for the info. At least my DS can still wear his velcro shoes. I am just wondering how come his feet doesn't grow for one whole year? :?

Hi, I am new to this group, and my boy is from 1F. Interesting to see quite a number of 1F parents around...I was looking through the checklist and I am getting stressed over what kind of personal admin folder to get him already! Any experienced parents out there who can recommend the type of folder to get for a P1 boy?

I got my son those folders with clear plastic pockets. You can get one from Daiso. It's better because your DS can see what is inside the pocket before taking out the letters or papers. Don't stress over this. 🙂

Is your son going to P1 in 2012? There was a notice called \"What to bring to school\" outlining what to bring on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd days. Maybe you should ask the school to email you the soft copy.

Your lock may be in DS old bag or that bag he brought on last day of school! I found mine there! Phew…

On shoes, I got a pair from BATA which is a lace-up and velcro combi, for 2 for $39.90, quite a good deal since original price is $24.

The personal folder, I just used those plastic A4 clear folder inherited from K2 days and pasted his name on it. Hope that will suffice.

Yes there is a list on what to bring for Day 1, 2 and 3. And another list to bring daily. Ds and I just packed his bag together yesterday, also asked him to practise using the lock and key. There is also a "form" they gave out on orientation day, we need to indicate ds’s mode of transport for returning home.

I purchase stick-on labels (with english name, chinese name and his class) and labelled everything.

The only thing that is outstanding is to buy his house t-shirt, it was sold out on admin day.
