In the handbook for P1(2012) parents, dismissal times are listed as Mon and Tues 1.15, and Wed-Fri 1.45.

Don’t know about CCAs and extra classes though.

Oic, major overhaul of the time-table. My boy just finished P6, and we had been having that timing for some time.

Ha! Thermometer. That's what most students will forget to bring on the 1st day of school. The school bookshop does sell if you cannot find it. Good luck in finding it. πŸ™‚

Yes, usually there will be temperature taking exercise on the first day (if not, any day during the first week). There is a recent outbreak of birdflu in HK. So my guess is the school will most likely conduct it on the first day.

Any type of thermometer will do. School bookshop will sell the oral thermometer for $1.xx.

My son going to P1 in 2012. I thought I hear the principal mentioned that parents can only wait at the waiting area outside the General Office.

Due to new buddy system, they cannot house the parents at the Canteen.

Any other parents can re confirm on this?

I called the school today & admin officer confirmed that parents are not allowed to go to the canteen during recess. We can only bring our boy up to the General office area in the morning! :-((

Need thermometer?????? I didnt know... Which type? πŸ˜“[/quote]Thermometer taking exercise usually does not fall on the first day of school. In 2011, it was on the first Friday of the school term on 7 Jan. In any case, teacher will start reminding the boys to bring and even collect the thermometers a few days before the exercise day.

During my boy's P1 time (which was a few donkey years ago, so may not apply anymore), P1 student's first thermometer was subsidized and given out by the school (if I remember correctly...very sorry getting old so can't remember things very well as such not very certain whether I'm correct); not sure if it is still the case now. The price of the thermometer is around $3 to $4 from the bookstore in the event if the boy need to buy one if they lost their first thermometer or it's faulty.

In a nutshell, my point is P1 parents might want to check with school first before rushing to buy thermometer.
