Oh? Is your DS in 1E? Maybe different class have different ways.

Maybe my son cannot write that well and fast?

He forgot to wear his tie today! Don’t know if he will be punished and hope he learn his lesson…

1E parents, compare notes. DS says bring the My Folio file tomorrow.

Dear 1E parents, do remember to check into Marist Buddy for the list of items to bring for Art & Craft tmr - 16 Jan.

I was also told by DS that he's to bring 'My Folio File' for Social Studies tmr. I reckon TonyThomasMum's DS was spot-on last week regarding this; and I think my DS has most probably forgotten about it last week :p!

            Thanks much, TonyThomasMum

Forgot 2 mention...my DS is in 1G...different class will have different practices..so not to worry about development stages..so far based on his schedule, looks like no need to wear tie on Mondays since its PE

Anyway, I think its the start of the year, so they'll probably understand the teething issues....

DS got the Chinese spelling list today. I am rather shock!

                Not even Chinese words!
                "a o e", " b p m f"
I really disagree this way to learning Chinese

Its how Chinese is taught in most schools (at least most of my other frens' kids school).

They learn hanyu pinyin first before going on to Chinese words. It will help them to read 'difficult' Chinese words as they progress on.

Hanyu Pinyin spelling is only for the first few months. They are tested on hanyu pinyin (included in CA, SA) so it is a must to know it well.

Not to worry. I had the same thought initially. DS is able to spell chinese words in hanyu pinyin better than me now. And I was an A1 student in Chinese! He actually corrected me when I pronounced the words wrongly. I am truly amazed how he learned all these in one year. So let the teachers do their job. I'm sure they have their reasons for doing so. Don't πŸ˜“ over it. πŸ™‚

I still rem when I got C6 for my AO CL, the Chinese teacher was so glad to 'get rid' of me from the class!! He thks I 'ate too much potato' liao!! So a C6 was a fantastic score!!

That's why for ds I must make sure he is in a CL environment from as young as possible!! πŸ™‚
