          Hello mummies

Wondering if there are any mummies who have registered her daughter for P1 next yr?

My daughter will be going to MCS.

          Cheers!

Hi, waiting to register my DD2 for Phase 2C :). When will we know if Marymount will move to single session? I did not see the school listed in the MOE website as being slated for single session for 2012? Was hoping not to drag my DD2 out of bed so early in the morning!

Transition of Primary Schools to Single Session

In April 2009, the Ministry of Education (MOE) accepted the recommendations of the Primary Education Review and Implementation (PERI) Committee to enhance the quality of primary education.

As part of PERI’s recommendations, MOE will move all primary schools to a single-session model progressively over the next few years so as to provide teachers with additional time and space to deliver a more holistic education as well as to allow pupils to benefit from a wider range of academic and non-academic activities.

MOE targets to facilitate the transition of all government primary schools to single-session by 2016. Government-aided schools will be given more flexibility in their transition timeline as they have to take into account stakeholders’ concerns.

The information below reflects the operation mode of all the primary schools in Singapore in Academic Year 2011, as at June 2011. The list of primary schools already operating at single-session in Academic Year (AY) 2011 is in List 1 below.

For the primary schools that have been planned to transit to single-session in AY 2012, please see List 4.

HI cantbearit2 , sorry for my late reply and thanks for the feedback. Sounds this is a good school. I'm looking for a school not only focus on academic but value charater and moral building as well. My DD was with Marymount Kindergarten before and the loving/ caring/ supprting environment is quite impressive. is this same as in MCS?

My DD is in P2 is in the school team for rhythmic gym. She really enjoys her school. Like many of us here, I used to move house to get her to the 'best' school back in 2008. That school balloted her out. To this date, I have no regrets sending her to MCS. The new principal is also very encouraging. The website and newsletters have greatly improved now.

Hi hoylj , thx for the sharing this…I guess the most important thing is our DD enjoys the schools everyday… do not want to send her to a school where she would drag her feet to go everyday.
