Zoo, what level is your dd at now? I’m glad to hear that MCS is also fairly strong academically. Their PSLE results are really not bad at all. The principal is also fairly strict and no nonsense, I understand?

TOTALLY agreed!!! My wild guess is that those who will got ballot out will then join MCS under 2C(supp)...which may eventually lead to balloting for MCS under 2C(S). MCS is actually a very good convent school and i dare say their quality of teaching and the work they are covering don't loss to other all girls' school! (Not doubt other school may offer higher chinese).

The only losing factor MCS is it's location.
location is not the only bugging thing in that school, but anyway, nothing is ever perfect, so... overall, i think we made the right choice nonetheless in signing up dd yesterday at mcs πŸ™‚ the kids running around in recess looked like they had fun, the place had a good vibe also

Agree nothing is perfect. It's up to our dd and whatever they make of any school they join. Nice meeting another parent whose dd is going to MCS.

My hb and I did PV at MCS the aim of which was to understand the school and we really liked many things we saw there. As PVs we had the chance to interact with the principal, VP, many teachers, other parents etc, and it was a school we felt happy about despite whatever shortcomings it had.

            Hi all,
my DD is in P1 at MCS tis yr. it's true tat location is not e only bugging thg. their toilet & canteen is not exactly tat clean & some of e bus drivers on certain route r not exactly tat helpful. MCS oso have no affiliated sec sch like CHIJ TP or St. Nicks. Thus it's not so popular.

Tat being said, i agreed tat their academics r not weak either. Overall IM pleased wif e sch. My DD only complained abt e cleanliness. Other than tat, she's enjoying herself v much. πŸ•Ί She loves her classmates, sch mates, student care friends, teachers etc etc.....

can't comment abt e P cos she's pretty new. :scratchhead: She come across as quite a serious person :nunchuk: during e briefing session.

Hope yur DDs have as much as fun as mine did wen ey r in MCS! πŸ˜„

Cantbearit, thanks for your assurance! I agree that facilities wise it's not all that nice, hopefully things will improve upon upgrading which I guess will be soon enough. It's the people which is most important and if that is in place, I think everything else is not as critical. No point having a beautiful school but sucky teachers and friends. As for the p, she actually comes across as scary, but good lah, make the kids scared and behave LOL. :scared:

                  Welcome all new parents πŸ™‚

I know a lot of people equate low take up rate with sch not being good but we should all not subscribe to this notion. I'm sure there're good teachers in MCS and my husband who's a teacher is pleasant surprised to find that the sch is so quiet on a sch day πŸ™‚ This certainly speaks well of the discipline in sch.

I've heard about not very nice sch bus drivers from friends but like what ohdaddy said, nothing's perfect! I'm sure even in so called good sch, we'll find bugs and hiccups.

We can all help to 'improve' the cleaniless of the toilets and canteen if we feedback to the sch.

He says that the kids are disciplined and polite, based on his sessions as PV.
