Has anyone's dd started getting homework already? Yesterday my girl brought home an English worksheet on the family tree. I ended up having to conduct an entire lesson on the relationships (explaining what are nephews, nieces etc) with her before she could do the worksheet as she says that the teacher only taught a little 🤷

Michyms, that’s fast! Thus far other than the spelling format, no homework.

My dd brough back mathworkheet and English workbook (need a picture of herself & write few sentences about her l). As no mention of due dates & she does not know, I make her do all plus spelling format. A lot for week 2 1st day, she complained she is tired. Feeling the stress as working mummy… How does working mum or dad cope?

jnemummy, is the Math worksheet from Maths Builder or Maths Extra practise or something the teacher came up with?

I am not really looking forward to sitting there every night getting my girl to do HW, learn spelling and ting xie… But there’s no other time as I can’t be around every morning to supervise her. Challenges of being a working mum…

My dd has no homework so far except for the spelling format. Yesterday, they did alot in class. They did Casco on the topic nouns (pg 3-6). and did Math Activity Sheet 1.1. They also started learning Hanyu ping ying (A, O ,E).

Michyms, in class the teacher will base on a story book call " When My baby sister came home" to illustrate the some family relationship like sibling, grandfather, grandmother, aunt.ect.

                  jnemummy,

I feel the stress too! On top of that, don’t seems to have enough time cos gotta get DD to sleep early. My dd is still trying to adjust to P1 life since it’s a long day in sch, she sleeps earlier than usual cos she said she’s tired.

Can’t imagine what’s it gonna be like when the full load of homework etc comes in.

                    KSMum,

It’s good that you know exactly what’s going on! Mine is so vague… DD told me yesterday her teacher read her a book and she was told to draw her family.

As for Chinese, she has since been asked to join another class of probably a lower ability cos she said she couldn’t understand the questions the lao shi asked.

Oh no, guess I need to buck up and do some serious work with her!

                      Gorilla,

No worry as long as DD stay consistent in her work… she has no problem.

KS mum, where is the maths activity sheet from? I don’t recall paying for any Maths worksheets.

Gorilla, the teacher dropped you a note to say that your dd will be in another class for Chinese? Recently I bought some books/materials to teach dd Chinese and it has been working well. If you are keen, I can share the titles with you…
