Hi Chloecube, i’m a newbie to this forum but have seen ur name in "IDObaby" forum on a thread on "The Beehives Monte"… May i know whether ur gal is stil with that sch. I understand from Ms Rose they do partial monte coaching but some parents advised me that monte teaching method is diff from P1, the system and method is different so i’m not sure whether to let my gal stick to 1 sch or change her when she goes to K1. My gal is now 3.5 yr old. Greatly appreciate ur advice…

Akin:
if all applicants is within 1km, you still need to go through balloting but if there are 5 applicants more 1km then I think you are quite safe to say that you are in!AZ020970:
tampines pri this year need balloting. For me i stay within 1km, am i correct to say that, i'm safe, will 100% get in the school?
Hi, I am also staying within 1km. But how do I check whether I still need to go thru balloting? -
Hi,
Did you register for Tampines Pri?
As long as number of applicants exceeds vacancies, have to go through balloting.
You can called the school to verify.
It will be held at 8.30am, at the school, coming friday. Same as the rest of the 89 schools. -

I have registered my DS for Tampines Pri. Hopefully, balloting is not needed for those within 1 km. -
Hope your child gets a place in TPS.

hi yorkie,
DD had left Beehive 2 yrs ago. she was with Beehive since she was 15months till 4plus.
she attended the full-day care bcos i do not have a maid at that time.
i find Monte coaching is good, DD is very independant and pick up new concept at a quick speed. Monte class is also smaller, teachers are able to focus more on each individual.
i know there are some parents out there having the same worries as you , but do not worry, kids can adapt to new environment very fast.
when i pull her out from Beehive and put her in PCF, initially she cried a little but was fine after that.
if you are still worried, you may want to let your DD try out first and then put her in K1 when she is 5yrs old.
my DD is currently K2 with Hope school.
since i had left Beehive 2 yrs ago, i am not too sure if the same group of teachers are still there and i cant comment on the new teachers as i do not know them. -

:snuggles: no choice...
@chloecube: you're not alone. if i don't secure a place for my kid via ballot next week in choice 1 sch, that poor kid will have to commute to and from choice 2 sch for the next six yrschloecube:
Hi peeps,
i have decided to give up on GS and stay put in NA.
just called GS and was told the nos of appl has gone up to 95 vs 63 vacancies
chances of getting it is rather low and me got weak heart to go thru the ballot :faint:
i believe it will hit 100 or more by 4.30pm today.
looks like i have to travel another 6 more yrs from tampines to marine terrace.. :skeptical:
good luck to the rest who are balloting for it. :xedfingers:
Susan, u have higher chance of getting in since i am not vying for it
:politebleah: Jiayou!
