Just received the confirmation slip from SHPS, orientation is 8th November 2013.

I got my letter too…and they asked us to resubmit the MT option form and some other documents e.g. birth cert etc. Husband called to ask why need to resubmit when we submitted that day but office wasn’t sure.


Anyways~ 8 Nov! Will we find out what class etc on that day?

Nope, they will not announce the class until year end when you receive a letter from the school. As mentioned earlier, the kids will be doing an assessment test and they will group the kids from there…

Yes. Parents will have their briefing in the hall and the kids will be whisked off to be with the teachers.

For SHPS, children are not grouped by abilities in P1. They are grouped by birthdays, if I'm not wrong. At least for my older girl currently in P2, their level was grouped by birthday months.


Although there will be a small \"assessment\", it is more to sieve out those who really need help I guess. Like those who can't even read or write their names. So don't be too stressed about it.
