Can anyone enlighten me if my girl still stand a chance to be posted to the top 2 classes if she performs well in P3?
I think why not? At the end of P3, they will stream you..
I think top 40 will go to first class and 41-80 to second class..

So my guess is that the school ranks all students in accordance to their ranking. 1st 40 to Sincere, next 40 to Achieving, next 40 or less to Gracious, next 40 to another class and so on.
Hope this is helpful to determine how the school ranks students. -
ok seems like for next yr P3, the "mixed abilities" classes are indeed mixed with no special allocation that we can identify.
How about 3 Sincere or 3 Achieving? Can any parent come forward and say 3 Sincere is not odd position or 3 Achieving is not even position (exception = Tracy mummy’s boy), thanks -
For those mummies whose kids r gg to P3 next year. I am not sure whether u hv notice the difference in the booklist at the sch bookstore website. There is Primary 3 and Primary 3 (S). It seems like the 2 best classes r using books for Primary 3 (S) while the rest of the pupils will be using Primary 3.
And the difference between these 2 booklists is Onsponge Conquer Problem Sums is a compulsary textbook for Primary 3 (S) and the teacher will be teaching these pupils using the book. 4 to 5 questions similar to Onsponge standard will be asked in the exam paper for the whole P3 cohort. A pupil who is not in the best class will be in the losing end as they are not taught in class at all.
What comment do you have for such unfairness in the teaching level between best and non best classes? -
My kid is gonna be in 3 Gracious and have 3(S) booklist. From what I see in this forum. It’s not the 2 best class. They may be stream based on subjects they r strong in.
I know from my friend (living in Tampines), her son’s school (Not Chongfu) are stream based on subjects, so the teachers can concentrate a bit more on their weaker subjects. -

Actually the fact that streaming took place at this early stage is in a way already unfair. So what do you expect them to do after the streaming? To go about teaching exactly the same way for all classes (to be fair) or to teach differently for differently classes? Surely things will be different for each class after the streaming. As to the 4-5 questions in the exam papers....hmm seems quite unfair but how sure are you that this is happening? -
