I think unless your child is those self motivated type, cf will be good. As compared to other schools, CF rely alot of parental involvement n sending of kids to tuition etc to catch up with the curriculum. I would think that their focus is more on academic than character building.

Hello. I am a new user here and I wanted to share my experience with chongfu. I have a son and daughter who both graduated from chongfu. With my daughter graduating 2 years ago. I wouldn’t say my experience is the most pleasant. My daughter is a incredibly well behaved child. However her journey in chongfu was not very good. I’ll first start of when she was in p2 she was incredibly isolated in her class. Which caused her to really loose self esteem and her grades drop. I have already warn the school that she was bullied in the past at kindergarten and to take notice ( as she gets anxious very easily because of that incident ) but not only did they not inform me but neither did they inform me about her grades which drop from an A to a Fail. To add on to that. When my daughter forgotten to bring her homework once. They teacher made fun of her causing her to be ridiculed by her classmates. We later found out only at the end of the year where we realise her scores and ask her if anything was wrong. We inform the school and all they did was sending a reply email saying "noted". She ended up catching up to an A in the end of the year exams ( probably by herself as she said that there was little attempt by the teacher to help improve her grades almost like they don’t mind if some student where not as good as there are better student in the school.) However I was amazed with the transition to p3 as not only was she top of the class she had friends and had a good year. Hence why I was not as angry at the school. But at p4. There was a specific incident which really made no sense in my mind. It was ICT class and a group of students were talking on the chat. Yet the teachers scolded them for doing so even though she did not told them not too. And apparently the "reasoning" behind it was because there was a cyberwellness talk in the assembly. Which made no sense as they are a group of friends talking to each other saying hi and discussing the work. My girl thinking that she needs to be honest raise her hand along with a few people who talked in the chat ( remember all my child did was say hi ) which led to them being called out and scolded for 2 hours. 3 teachers heard about this and did nothing even though I would say they knew they were in the wrong as when a girl ask the teacher that they don’t remember any part in which the talk said not to talk in the chat she was talked down by the teacher. And the teacher also appointed another girl who cried as the leader ( because she cried I guess.) I couldn’t believe it at first. Hence I ask a few of my friends ( who my child told me where scolded too ) and they said the same thing. Hence one of us emailed the school ( with screen shots of the chat as they said that someone wrote profanity however there was none ) yet all they did was apologise via email. ( and not addressing to the kid.) Other then these incident during p5 and 6 my girl got sick because of asthma for a few times and miss school she ask the teachers for help and they said yes but they didn’t show up and she had to wait there idioticlly. Also there is a specific math teacher who makes fun of students ( jokingly of course ) which i didn’t find a big problem but apparently one of the student who was especially picked on ended up having depression. ( I can’t confirm this )
Now to my son. My son is a lot older as he is already an adult now. But he also faced a specific incident which really anger me. My family are from China and when my son went in school he just came to singapore ( with me already working here for 3 years ) and one time a Indian teacher actually said racist remarks to him not knowing I was his mother. My son is naughty however what he said isn’t justified. He told my son that China people should stop coming here as he doesn’t like it. I was really angry and confronted him I couldn’t believe him trying to play it nice and giving even more subtle racist remarks like laughing at my son English. My husband was so angry when he heard it he threatened to sue the school ( he is hot tempered I apologise ) in which he then apologise. My daughter told me that the same teacher also went into her class at p5 and pinch the "naughty" boys ears and pull their collar.
However I do comment on their teachings at p5 and 6 as both my child saw a improvement in grades.
I know that this may not be as important to some parents. As academic seems to be the most important factor in singapore. But I just want to highlight this as I wouldn’t want my kid to go through these again. Also do note that their support for student mentally is not as good either and they do not highlight mental health at all (which is common in all government school.) Hence if your child is facing some problems I do not recommend this school -

I also heard that the school academic standard is quite high.
My niece is in chongfu. my sister said the teacher hinted her that the student may need extra academic support. So my sister sent her child to tuition. -

I agree with what Jeanlin said about the school. -
still thinking to put my son in CF since my house is within 1 km…Heard the principal has changed, will it be better now?
