Can Rae understand what the teacher say in class? Since u mentioned her accent is slangy. Seriously teacher do plays a part in conducting a class. If a child has difficulty in understanding, he/she will totally shut off.
If you are not comforable with the teacher in TH, perhaps you should consider other alternatives?
For Bel, she started late (term 4 of K1), so she is still struggling to understand because she has a weak foundation in Mandarin. And fortunate for her, she has been taught by the same teacher since K1 till now. So the teacher understands her pattern more or less. And as a parent, we reinforce her after every class during the weekdays so that she can catch up with her peers in class.
Because of this, I let my boy attended Berries from N2 to build up his foundation in Mandarin. And I am fortunate that he can recognise Chinese characters and not depending on HYPY. -

I asked my girl whether there is malay or indian in her class. She shrug her shoulder. So i asked her r there any dark skin pupils in her class, she said yes....
Perhaps she dunno.... Haha
One mummy from gracious shared that the class has got a lot of malay & indian. -

Will the school give us the schedule for individual class? You mean your friend has already received the planned activity of each term for her child?
