      Hey tutor 21,

      I agreeD with you.
Some parents are so irresponsible . They ignore the kids or refuse to acknowledge for the fact that the kids are \" slightly different from the norm\" . Sad.
If autistics kids are not treated, they pose a threat to the school classmate .
They turn violent and hurt the following classmates .:(
Sometimes, parents will tell the teacher not to tell the classmates about the kids syndrome . Can you imagine what will happen to your poor kid who happen to sit next to him.
Kanna punch , Kanna push, kana scream at ...
Gosh ! Nitemare ! Xiao la :stupid:
And best of all, teacher knew the syndrome and punished the innocent one.
I am telling the truth here because it happened in my son class .
      Stupid idiotic form teacher.
Conclusion, parents please your kids for treatment and not hurt the innocent one .

OT a bit since I think this has to be addressed.

Were you there in the class? Was your son the affected one?
I can understand your concern for your child but do you really have the full picture?
To use such harsh words on the teacher or the child in a public forum is not appropriate.
Do note even the autistic child is innocent just like mine and yours.

Please note we live in an inclusive society, so yes every child needs an equal opportunity at school so lets have some empathy. Focus on the concerns you have for your child and how the teacher can better handle it, dont let it become a hate game just because a child is not \"normal\".

The whole class was a victim.

              Ok.
              It was the teacher fault.
              She was bias.
Children got punished because of it. Fair?
I don't have anything against autistics but the whole class was kept in the dark for whole year.
              Fair?
              :siao:
This boy went around kicking , pushing and shouting ... Fair to the rest of the 30boys.?
              Ridiculous !!

Tuition is to help students maintain or improve their current grades therefore it is not a must. As a tutor, I have some parents who tell me that they would be very satisfied if their children can pass - dont need good grades. Others like my uncle demand a minimum of 95% for all subjects from her primary school daughters or prepare to face the rod. Amazingly, they dont have to go for tuition at all and do meet the standard set by their father.

Whenever I do relief teaching, especially in secondary school, I always tell the students that so long you are comfortable with the kind of grades you are getting then everything else doesnt matter. However, one must know the consequences of that grades.

Having lousy grades meant fewer open doors, lower qualification levels and thus lower salary in future. When most secondary children realized that getting them $2000 monthly salary is not going to buy them sports cars and/or condos, they start to rethink about the need to study.

At the end of the day, everything boils down to motivation and the will of the student. The busiest of all people are always the most effective. I remember how my friend in NS told me that the president scholar for our year was not only great in his studies, he had a diploma for piano and a competitive player for water polo. His girlfriend was also a president scholar and a competitive dancer. Family, relationship, academic, music and sports, what else can you ask for right?

                  Hello!

Just curious, what are your views on tuition?

Do you think it is necessary for parents to fork out extra money to pay for their children's education?

Are the prices of tuition getting too expensive?

i think that its never to late to teach basics of hardworking / thinking / creativity in tuition classes. children will always have fun.. maybe dont pile them up with tuition but tuition will help discipline studies in thier lives espc in the future when competition is massive! better to start now i think...

and yes tuition is expensive. must find the right ones tho...

                    Dear parents,

How to know if our children need extra lessons? Should we send them to expose them to more? To widen their knowledge? Or should we send them only when they are failing? What do you look out for when choosing an enrichment/tuition centre? how do we determine if a centre is good? Any advice or comments from parents here? I am considering/looking for Chinese and Science classes for my son. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
