So the TC should not have jointly developed the software? :scratchhead:

      十四(实死)TC sold software for 十四万。
Now left with 13自己人TC ... No wonder Picha lobang 😆

In a democratic society, the people wields the power to choose the govt.

A group of pple who is in control now may lose control of Govt bodies (Public transport, Airport, Power utilities, etc..) if the pple have a change of heart.

The people in control of the public entities now is almost always at the mercy of the people as far as control of the entities is concerned. They are bound by need and obligation to do the best for the pple to retain their control.

However, if it is a private entity, they are free to pass on power as they like, w/o the need for the approval of the people. Even if there is a change of Govt, these entities remains in the control of a few selected group of people.

Privatization IS for the good of the masses.. the PEOPLE..? 😆 :rotflmao:

Those are just symptoms of the disease. It was simply due to a loss of trust.

It's all pretty stupid anyway, once trust is lost it is extremely difficult to earn back. And that is something so basic that we teach it to our kiddoes.
Pirate, no personal attacks intended - but, can't help saying this out of my own frustrations - that this is not just based on one mistake. Doesn't it look like there is rotting going on? And getting kind of out-of-control now? Whatever happens, the people will still be the ones who suffer most. Yes, our responsibilities as parents weigh heavy on our shoulders.

I have this nagging suspicion that the software is capable of more functions and by taking it out of the hands of the TCs, the new owners have super-admin rights to all information harvested (perhaps residents profiling which is essential can be used in defining the boundary constituencies) and in case Opp do win (which they did!), they will have no access to it except some generic accounting components.

I shudder to think that this might be a common practice. :nailbite:

Nah. There were quite a few howlers in the past too. They were deemed more forgiveable by the people (generally) because trust was still there. The rot started with sky high \"private sector\" pay for political office. Naturally, people started questioning competency and when that was not decisively dealt with, people naturally progressed to questioning motive. Once that snowball starts to roll downhill...

                      Then they start to question

What is the real motive behind privatization of critical assets…?
