Did many parents turn up for the balloting?
Any clue who is P1 Mummy, eg. snapping photos of children's name, busy gathering info?
How's the atmosphere? Maybe you can share the whole process? :please: -
:congrats: to all the parents who are successful in their choice of schools

any unusual lady seen there this morning dressed like a lawyer, or kind of doing some detective leg work there, even before balloting start ? -
Hi
I arrived at about 850am and the room was already quite packed. Everyone was sitting down. Atmosphere was subdued, with parents still streaming in. Most parents came in pairs, with some mums that came alone.
The crowd was mostly comprising of Chinese couples, with a few Indian parents. I don't remember seeing any Malay couples, nor do I recall any Malay names being roll-called at the beginning of the ballot.
I don't recall anyone that stood out particularly. Video/photo-taking was prohibited. The school set up a video cam to film the balloting process. There was one Malay man at the back of the room with a pro looking camera, I am wondering if he is a reporter or staff member.
The process in brief:
1. Register at counter and you will get a small card with a number and the name of your child on it.
2. The staff read out the list of registrants and their corresponding numbers. I guess this gives you a chance to tell them in case you are left out inadvertently!
3. Each numbered ball was shown to the floor before being thrown into the round cage (like Bingo). In this case, no.1-50.
4. Cage is turned many times to shuffle the balls.
5. Each time a ball drops out the number is read and the name of the child is also read. Another staff pastes a number card onto the white board to indicate which number was picked, in sequence of the draw.
6. Repeat until all places are filled.
That's what I observed. I did not turn around to look at other people cos I was so focused on the cage! But everyone was very calm, no hysterical pple.phtthp:

THANKS!! It was all about luck really. Sitting there I felt so helpless as there was nothing I could do except pray hard. My heart was in my mouth and I squeezed my hubby's hand so tightly. Everytime a ball dropped my heart stopped for a sec before they read out the number. There was so much tension and the moment my number was called I was flooded by a sense of relief!
I hope the parent with twins (zakashi?) got both her kids into ACS and SCGS. I can't imagine how stressed she must have been!
:rahrah: :congrats: :rahrah:
