[Novena] Primary Schools

Hi, Citygirl.
I'd monitor both schools and register at the one that has the surer chance of getting in. Depending on the year, you might stand a better chance at ACJS despite living further.Eagle-Ladybird:
All the dear Gurus,
If you are 2B and < 1 km, from AC Primary, and within 1-2km of AC Junior, would you go for AC Primary ?? Many thanks
Next year will be the P1 registration, so u're confirmed on ACJS? I'm still in a dilemma whether to go for ACPS or ACJS. Same situation as Eagle-Ladybird, may relocate to somewhere within <1km of both school.
Tends to get nervous whenever i returns to check on forum updates, this P1 registration thingy is really giving me nightmares.......
May God bless everyone here! -
If I am not wrong… ACPS had a much larger intake and campus than ACJS abt 20-30 years ago … hence they have a huge number of alumni compared to ACJS.
Now that ACJS also has a large campus and taking abt the same numbers as ACPS, hence the chance of a non-affiliated boy getting in phase 2B&C is higher. Also I think that ACPS offers GEP, whereas ACJS is staring/started their own inhouse gifted programme… so parents may consider that too when choosing between the 2. -

Just to share......if your child is in ACJS and by the time your child qualifies for GEP, ACJS will ask your child to go to ACPS. This is a common practice.

Yes, it's my turn to register my DS next year! ACJS remains my holy grail, but the quest appears increasingly difficult. At Phase 2C, my 1-2km is likely not to give me even a chance to ballot.
Honestly, I am not in a bad situation. I live within 1km of other reasonably good schools so I am resigned to the fact that my sons may not join my alma mater.
It's in God's hands now, and I am praying for a miracle everyday, ha ha!
Having to choose between ACPS and ACJS should not be too difficult. To me, both are good schools and offer largely the same environment. The only differences are location (ACPS seems to have a slight traffic problem), GEP (but if your child is in ACJS, they can opt to transfer to ACPS if admitted to the GEP program) and size, facilities. My view is - go for the one which gives you the surest chance of admission! Best of luck! -
Was really excited to know that someone has been accepted to PV at SCGS.
We called the school up and they were really tight lipped about which skill sets they need for successful consideration.
Would anyone be kind enough to share which skills (in your opinion as well) set would be given a better chance at PV-ing at SCGS? -
SJIJ starting single session nx year onwards @ temporary site for extention on old site.
Will be single session from then onwards.
Had just called the school to enquire. -

Ability to teach chinese is highly desirable. -
Hi,
I noticed that SCGS intake for P1 is 200 students. May I know how many students in a class? From what I see, there are normally 30 students in a class right, so it means there are 6 classes with 30 students, and 1 class with 20 students? -
Hi INNOVATE,
Do you how many PVs do they accept?INNOVATE:
