Surprisingly to see Nan chiau still have quite a plenty after 2A (2). good luck to those on 2b and 2c. It could be a win win situation for all this year 🙂

136 vacancies left for Nan Chiau is a lot. Call up the school to find out what’s yr chance now.

how about Rivervale with 120 spots (60 for Phase 2C) and Compassvale 155 left. is the chances for within 1km higher than last year? I’m still pessimistic about getting into either one of them, and can’t decide which one is better.

If unlucky I can end up choosing other schools which is not walking distance from my place.

I did PV during last year’s phase 2C registration at CVPS. On the 1st day, > 120 registered for phase 2C and balloting was conducted for <1km.

Actually.. I am don't know what's so good about Nan Chiau.

Does it churn out more top PSLE children, or have good programmes?
Or it has the long history of Chinese heritage that will be imparted to the children?

My wife requested for a visit but was turned down rudely. She didn't even get the opportunity to find out the name of that person talking.. :spank: (it may not be the teacher.. we won't know).
That left us a very bad taste how our kid will be if he gets in.
We stay within 1km of the school and we have shortlisted couple of others that are also within 1km.

Before making a final decision... can anyone advise what's the advantage/benefit of getting into NC?
Btw, I'm not putting down the school.. just curious about it.

I have a friend who works there. she did ask me to consider doing pv there. She said that the school has a strong financial backing from the clan so when it comes to money, enrichment classes, etc, the kids enjoy more support in this area. The teachers there really drill the kids v v hard esp for PSLE cos i heard that they have 2 prelim papers (last time lah, now dunno). it's strong in discipline too i think. and statistically, NC does produce high scorers in psle. acc to my friend, it's v chinese kind.

i guess it depends on what is your criteria when choosing schools. but i've decided that nan chiau is not for my son... you know your child best so u may decide based on what u gather is best for your child.

sigh heard this I feel even more sad. NC is what I wanted my son to go in , but we’re 1-2km from school and we fall in phase C totally no chance at all … And my falt will be ready only 2014 so totally no chance at all.

Just wonder why only NC is popular. Compassvale also produces top scorers in the PSLE too. According to their newsletter in yesterday’s Open House, last year’s top 3 scorers achieved 260 & above.
