Im considering NJC too, but am unsure of the vibe of the school.

Did you go down for the open house? I've heard the school does place more focus on academics, but it's not true that everyone mugs 24/7 seriously. They study consistently, which is important in JC.

        of course we can't mug 24/7 - we'll just go mental šŸ™‚

So should I go to njc or sajc??? Is the travelling time Worth it, or is it better to stay with my current friends???

It's up to you really, you can always make new friends anywhere :)
And errr.... Another's thing I'm concerned about is the teachers there. Are yet dedicated and will they provide help to the weaker students???( because I'm a slow learner.)
I'm not sure... In the JH the teachers can be very patient, but in JC, the pace might be much faster. My chem teacher currently hardly even explains but most people understands anyways, his lectures are good though. The math teachers and physics teachers are more dedicated. Not very sure for GP though. For bio and econs, it depends on which teachers you get.

If I place it as second choice, and both my first and second choice are rejected, won't I be like stranded?

If you second choice is NJC, with nett 4, I think it's pretty safe. Very unlikely to be rejected. Since the COP is 5. Whereas for VJC the COP of 4 is partial already.

But the JAE cohort for NJ would be smaller given the IP batch? So it's absolutely unwise to put VJ as second choice? What are the chances of appealing into a school of second choice?
they will be taking in ~450. Chance for appealing into school of second choice is undoubtedly lower, than the first school

                Hi,

                Need some advise.
What is the better and shorter way to travel from Woodlands to ACJC by public transport? DD has tried via One-North stn but is too far for her..

She need to decide btw ACJC n NYJC. NYJC is more convenient. But I want her to go ACJC.
Then go NYJC. Else she will have less resting time which could affect her study.
