Hey Parents,
Please share what you and your kids are reading (perhaps their age as well), so we can all use it as a reference of sort. How do you entice your kids to read? What's your experience in getting your kids to read Chinese story books?
Book reviews for mums, dads, and kids are welcomed too. -
My gal is 4.5 years old. Is mad about Peter and jane series only. So I got nearly the whole series for her.

kaitlynangelica,
Which Peter and Jane series ? Is it the Ladybird keyword series ?
BlueBells,
Check out my blog for the list of books my kids love from baby to 3 years old.

From 4 - 5 years old, they love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. My 5 year old girl is reading Charlotte's Web now.
Here's a list of Chinese books. My mother reads these books to my kids every night before they sleep, and they love them.

Yes its the ladybird keyword series. Don't ask me why but she is crazy about it. Actually, that one teaches based on word recognition rather than phonetics. I prefer the read with phonics series but she doesn't seem interested in the story. -
My 5yo is reading http://images.google.com.sg/images?ndsp=20&um=1&hl=en&q=site:www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com+The+new+adventures+of+curious+george&start=0&sa=N, very interesting book. So far I have only 2 of the books, am trying to collect more.
My 9yo is reading 'The Lord of the Ring- The Two Towers' Part 2, she just finished part 1. -
kaitlynangelica,
Both my kids like that series too My girl has finished reading book 12a. She even asked to finish book 12b, although I told her there is no need to. My almost 4 year old boy is reading book 5a now, he reads one page a day. He has learn many words from the series. Actually many english words are not phonetic, so the look and say method is equally important.
Both of them like to examine the pictures
I heard there are kids who find this series boring. I am surprised to know that your girl likes this series too
