Anyone tried enopi at roxy square? I went over for a look but can't tell much. Actually I am looking for a right brain training like shichida but around katong/marine parade area.
Yes. My kids have been there for 3 years. They are now in P3 and P4. Though Enopi don't follow school syllabus strictly. Eg. for some sections they might do it in greater details as compared than school, so far my kids are coping ok for maths. 80+ range in terms of school results. Instructor is also very helpful in teaching them how to cope with tricky problem sums that we come across during top school papers practise. -
Hi MMM and all,
Based on your experience with enopi, hope you can help with a few of my burning questions...
- What's the ratio of basic math and critical thinking math in the programme?
- Do you find that the way or the things they teach in the programme is sthg that parents can do at home with their children? I'm worried about :moneyflies: on sthg that i might have been able to do on my own if i had the time and commitment.
- Do the instructors teach or guide the students at all?
- How do parents get an idea of the child's progress?
- Do you find that the programme prepared your child(ren) for primary school?
Sorry for the deluge of questions... Hope to hear your thoughts on the above. Thanks much in advance! -
it depends on ur child character.
for #1 she didnt go any math class in presch years. tried mpm for a term and stopped. she only went math tuition seriously ard p3. for p2 also go try try (vip learning and mindstretcher 1 mth, just for me to test the centre). i wld say if ur child is willg to do work at home, p1, p2 can dont go tuition, tho i must say that if the child lacks logic thinking, like my girl, an early start is a good foundation.
she scores band 1 in p1 and p2, and p3 now too.
but for p3 onwards, if she really lacks analysing skill, need tuition, tat is why i sent her to JEI
for my k2 boy, he rather slow and playful. cant do any work at home. i no choice must send him tuition in k2.
for no. 3 she is only 4 but very mature, smart and willg to do work.
so far not sending her yet cos i believe can be taught at home.
i supp it also depends on the child’s future pri sch is competitive or not??
u can alwaz self teach for a while to gauge ur child 's standard and obedience level. if ur child is obedient, i would say p1 can teach urself. -

I am totally with 24hr-mum. Because it ultimately will depend on the kids.
For my elder one, i send him for class on 6 plus but he is coping. Yet, the youngest one, I enrol her around 5 years because she is slow and playful. I have tried to teach her but end up I get frustrated and she also not giving enough confident and not wanting to learn. So I enrolled her in the class for a headstart first.
This is all depends on the judgement from parents and decide what is good for the kids. -
Thanks 24-hr mum and Monster Mummy!
When i try to get DD to do math using a workbook, she usually can \"tahan\" for 1 to 2 pages, before her attention span drops. :skeptical:
Of course, i try to bear in mind she's only 4, and so i go along with the flow and try to get her to do sthg else.
Actually i'm torn between math and chinese classes. Think both will be an overkill, but it's not easy to decide which one is more essential. Even tho we do speak Mandarin at home, we predominantly communicate with DD in Eng. Now she still speaks Mandarin with an ang moh accent. :faint: -

I can say that do not worry too much because as time it goes by, they will pick up certain learning. Like my youngest, she also not used to communicate in English but only speak Mandarin. But now she also learn to communicate English with her brother occasionally. So in terms of language, kids pick up faster but in terms of writing, maybe we should not have high expectation. -
Well, thanks to all your wise words of advice... Have considered how effectively i can possibly teach math or chinese to my DD on my own, and i think it seems harder to teach her chinese myself (or at least not to the level i think an enrichment class can raise her to hopefully). Just the other day, i tried persisting in speaking Mandarin with her. After just 5 min, she started protesting and wanted me to switch back to English!
She was much more enthusiastic with Math tho, didn't want to stop trying the exercises.
So the verdict: Chinese class for now! Now on to the headache of picking a suitable Chinese enrichment class. -
Just sent my K1 son for a diagnostic test. I like the environment at Square 2. Very neat and clean.
Was told that my son can start from level 3. Anyone knows what is roughly the average time to complete the whole 32 levels? I forgot to ask the facilator. -
i am not sure but it also depends on how much repetition and skipping is done by the teacher. i think the child will be in pri sch after some time and enopi is not entirely sch syllabus by then
