My daugther said her classmate told her that she saw couple of \"dirty\" website in their dad computer. really headaces.. Kids these days grew up too fast. My time TV is a luxury item. No computer or internet to worry.
Any advice from any one? -
er .... what advise are you asking for? how not to get caught visiting adult themed website? :?

Hi bishanmum, my suggestions
1) don't share your hubby's computer with her
2) if really need to share, create different log in users with different profiles
3) ask your hubby to clear the cache, history and files under the tools, option after each use
4) explain to her these are not \"dirty\" websites but \"adults\" websites. So children cannot visit. -
err… actually not my pc… It actually my daugther friend… been going aroudn telling my daugther “dirty” website… Now I am in a fix, how to explain to her. ALso I begining to worry that my daugther will start searching for “dirty” website herself, out of curiosity. Is Internet safe?

Thanks god, i have placed the PC in the living room. So she should not be able to do any hanky panky without my knowledge.

That day, I was watching the crime watch on TV and they suggested parents must control their kids computer time. Also suggested to place PC in the common area, eg. living room. So bishanman, you did the right thing.
When kids are small, still easy to control. When they are older, in Sec and above, they need to do a lot of reasearch, project work, discussion on MSN, e-worksheets from school .... Some older kids still can talk sense to them. For those who don't, parents would need to control by installing different profile and rights. Block certain websites, like some offices do -

a IT colleage of mine has been doing this cat-n-mouse thing with his secondary school son. One block, one by-pass ....
there is NO foolproof way to effectively & comprehensively block out unhealthy contents.
best is still educate our children what is right, what is wrong and what is grey. -
Do they educate such thing to student in Primary or secondary school? I envy my parents, they don't have such headaches when I was young. Porno is such a rare commodity. I think even my father might have problem getting one (that is if he ever want one). Nowaday, children have it just a click away......

BTW, tankee, didn’t your friend install those internet safety software? I hear those block “dirty” website
