Vevey:
but wont too many a times of force shutdown damage the washing machine?
Most machine should hv a rinse only function. Just hv to cancel/ force shut down after a few minutes instead of going thru e whole cycle.
Read in Harvey Norman guide the other day that it's good to rinse the tub as part of maintenance anyway. -
Vevey:
Beware when doing force shutdown as this disrupt the programme cycle and it could spoil the circuit board, shorten the life span of the machine. If rinse cycle, better let it run full cycle. IMOMost machine should hv a rinse only function. Just hv to cancel/ force shut down after a few minutes instead of going thru e whole cycle.

Hi hi, 700 series is the newer series with better dirt detect technology, and the battery can last 3 hours before it goes back to charging base. 550 batt will go back to charging base after 1 hr plus.autumnbronze:
Hi ladies,
To those who own the roomba , may I enquire what is the difference bet the 550 and the 760??
I chose 550 because my house is not so big. And price is a factor too. Hope that helps ! -
the philip ironing system i got was a mid end model as in it cost 699 but due to best denki promo its 599. for this model, the water tank can b removed, unlike the 299 model.
i m v happy wif it cos the steam is continuous, no need to fill water tank all the time, and irong is faster. sole plate is non sticky. but to iron dark clothes must put a mesh cloth (2.50 from cold storage) to avoid burnt marks.
my maid left in nov and i m copg well, except stimes hv to buy food cos too tired to cook.
i got an electrolux tall cordless ergorapido plus vac cleaner
i always had a dryer and washer
used bona spray mop - no pail needed.
used thermal pot to keep soup hot, ie can cook soup earlier before kids return
i dont fret over hsewk so much.
i used wash mach to wash swim wear
how to rinse minced meat that’s frozen? very messy right? -
After reading your review, I'm tempted to get the roomba too.
But I can't afford to get both the roomba and the scooba. So still have to manually mop the floor after using the roomba?
What about the electricity consumption of the roomba, is it very high?1amber:
tee hee hee,
dashed down last night to IT show at Suntec to get my toys - the roomba 780 and the scooba. Took roomba home last night and now it has been cleaning my home since this morning (2.5hours already and still going strong because home has not been cleaned for more than 1 week  ). So here is my quick review:
1. It is not as noisy as I thought it to be.
2. Seems quite haphazard but cleans very well. It was so meticulous with our bedroom.
3. Easy to remove dirt from the bin.
Can anyone share how this idapt technology works? My home configuration is quite irregular. It doesn't seem to be able to clean all rooms at one go. I had to chaperon it and restart at the rooms not previously cleaned.
Other than that, I have fallen in love with my roomba. :rahrah: -
Just curious about those of you who have no maids, do most your husbands support you for not having maid or would they rather you hire one? I don’t have a maid for more than a year now because my kids are in their teens now and i cope quite well in my opinion. But sometimes I wish my husband was more supportive, he still prefers to have a maid.

Can I know how long does the battery lasts? I heard only 3-4 months and how much does a replacement battery costs?
I am not sure. Perhaps you could call the agent John Ackerman 65323733
Battery last about 9mth to 1 yr depend on how often you use.
I used to change battery n do servicing at the same time wif the agent. -

Just got a roomba recently and I wonder whether I should leave the charger on 24/7 even when roomba is fully charged? Eg, can I off the charging unit during night time then on again when we leave the house in the morning? Will that help to lengthen the life span of the battery?
Thanks! -

I'm without a maid for 2mths now... my hubby still thinks we will hire 1 whereas I'm against the idea. True, cos' he works on wkends, and i have plenty of concalls at night throughout the week, we are both busted mentally and physically... however, i currently hold the belief that if we remain status quo with only 1 child, we should be able to manage... tiring but still can close 1 eye and survive... I too hope that he is more supportive, becos for some chores, he will not lift his finger, cos he wanna rest on wkdays nights... no choice... gotta do what a wife does best... NAG..
however, that said, if we really go for a 2nd child, we may still end up hiring... don't know, but i am hoping not to hire again... :xedfingers: -
i hv 3 kids, coping ok so so lah. but my dh still thinks i shd hv a maid, tho i m not keen at this moment. cos so free now, no maid issues to handle. no black face to see.
dh will mop, wash toilet, go mktg but he thinks if i hv maid, can coach kids sch work…
