Yes, some people stay at Grand Prince New Takanawa cos of the Disney shuttle. But I read that it's a uphill walk from the station to the hotel, which would be a drag at the end of a long sightseeing day if we visit other parts of tokyo.
I also considered the difficult of moving every1 around, so I'm going to forward my luggages from hotel to hotel with the takyubin service (http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/english/services/takkyu.html), then we'll travel light.
Just to share Shinagawa rates:
Twin sharing (higher floors) $13500 yen
Twin sharing (lower floors) $13000 yen[/quote]
Mamemo: Which hotel rates are these? I might also be considering staying at the shingawa prince as notice it very near to the train station. And they are all under the same group so should be able to take the disney shuttle. I initally thot if staying near disney, but i might lose 1/2 day travelling there. When are you going? -

hi June
go to Shinagawa's website and key in your date of travel: http://www.princehotels.com/en/shinagawa/roominfomation/
I'm going in mid nov....
The rooms at Shinagawa are however smaller than takanawa and sakura... -
mamemo: I think they have not opened the system for booking in Dec, as I tried to enter but search says no match found
Guess i might need to wait for another month or so
-
yes, I think most hotels typically open bookings 3 months in advance
how many days will u be going to tokyo ? -
Yeah will try to secure early reservations next mth ba..
Hmm how many days..I think 10 days ba..intend to spend 2 days in Disney -
hi mameo
you can only get diapers and milk powder in pharmacies in tokyo. they don’t have that in supermarkets. and i think pharmacies are usually found in residential area if i’m not wrong - at l;east that was what i found out during my last 2 trips, but i did find one in a side street in ginza. actually best to bring your own diapers so that you don’t have to go hunting.
and not sure how old are your kids but my 3yo ended up drinking those packets of cold milk avail. in convenience stores most of the time, instead of drinking the FM we brought. so if you don’t mind giving your kids cold milk, you can get the packet milk fr their convenience stores. -
cold milk? best start training them whilst still in singapore… but i think most kids love cold milk anyway… just whether got lactose intolerance at low temperatures…

Hi June,Thanks all for the great tips!!
Sorry got caught up with work and I am already missing this forum!!
As we are thinking of building in Osaka into the trip, as such was wondering anyone can share whether easy to find the train station from NRT airport. When arriving back from Osaka to NRT, it will stop at Ueno, Tokyo & Shinagawa, was thinking of settling accommodation around this train station. Any recommendation?
Any recommendation for hotel in Osaka must ne near to train station. Thanks all
Are you traveling w kids? If you r, I would recommend u to take the airport limousine bus and get a hotel which is link up with the airport limouse bus.
If u r traveling wo kids, then there are more choice available.

Thanks blueroti for your suggestion ! In fact I've started my girl (she'll be 2 years old during the trip) on meiji milk and she loves it ! Thankfully her digestive system is ok with it toohi mameo
