Cherie Hearts

Hi there… i’m sorry to say that my son did not go for the trial. he was sick during the one week holiday. But i’ve been to the cc twice. Once was on a sat where the teachers are doing the cleaning work as there was no student. the second time was on a week day afternoon, where the kids are having their story-time. Personally, i like the place very much. I intend to put my son there from Dec 09 onwards.

Hi lil flanders,
the second time that i went to the centre was abt 5pm where one group (probably the playgroup) was having their story time. But if i dun remember wrongly there was another group abt 2 or 3 children (maybe nursery grp) were having story listen via CD player together with their chinese teacher. As for the quality of the teacher, i cannot really comment. But i sit in the story time with the kids in the playgroup, the teacher indeed did a good job.

hi kathong, tks for feedback. has enrolled my boy in CH starhub green jan-10 n daughter in jun-10 cuz their infant care is full. Are u aware there’s 20% off for 6mths if enrolled before 31oct. Its convenient for me i guess, n a good xcuse to leave work on time
Now just wondering if still need to send him for i-creative learning (he’s not prounouncing well), berries (strengthen chinese) n little neuro tree (right or left brain training)? anyone has feedback if CH curriculum is sufficient? HATE this kiasu-ness myself thou. But everyone the best for children right? -

Speaking of \"not academic driven\"... what I mean is they believe in meaningful play, not so much in drilling. That's the thing I appreciate. There is no homework or work sheet to bring home after school (not like other childcare centers that I know.). But the curriculum still covers maths, English phonics, Chinese pinyin, Science, Arts in class...gajidouma,
Can the child cope in P1 if the school not academic driven?
I also noticed they put quite some emphasis on language (Esp. reading), math progress a bit slow comparing to other centers (only introduce addition the second half of K1), but then the way they introduce math concepts is quite systematic...
Having said so much, the most important thing to look at is still: teachers! teachers! teachers!
