Thermal pot

if we heat the inner pot for stew etc and put into the outer pot to cook, how long can we leave it there?
Wd the food turn bad or wd it overcook, if we say we do it from early morning and then eat 12-14 hrs later for dinner ? Reason is no one wd be at home to take the pot out. -

Dinner on weekdays and sometime lunch on weekends. I am using small pot 1.8L thermos, just got 4.5L thermos pot. Tried cornbread last weekend but turn out to be more like a cake.. wahaha
The 4.5L pot is good for making soup. Cut all ingredients into small pieces and cook for about 20-30 mins, and then put in the pot for about 3 hours. You would like it for sure:) -
Just want to share what I \"discover\" recently...On one occasion when I cook the plain white porridge (teochew mueh), I need to leave the hse for some errands, what I did was I left the cover of the outer pot open...when I came back, the texture of the porridge was the consistency we like, not too mushy/starchy...
Using the same method, I've cooked soup which cannot be too thick (my father has kidney problems and can't have soup too rich in protein), soup with meat which I don't want to be tasteless after too long a period in the pot,...etc. IMO v.useful when I need to be out of the hse for a considerable period of time...
I've been using my 4.5l Thermos thermal pot for close to 9 yrs and it's still serving me well...Can't imagine life without my thermal :love: :love: -

Yes I use my thermal pot to cook porridge too.... the texture is simply lovely. One word to describe it... PERFECT! :love: :celebrate:

This morning I saw an almost brand new 5 or 6 litre thermal pot at Cash Converter at Bedok, going for only $15, what a steal!

Didn't notice the brand as I was not interested and was in a hurry to get home at that time. -
I bought a 5L (or was it a 6L?) La Gourmet. Very good for soup. I am planning to get the 2.5L one for smaller portion cooking - porridge, dessert etc.

I got an insert (Bain Marie) from thermalcookware (AU) to cook another dish which put onto 4.5L. It's just like 2 pot in 1 outer pot.
