Hello Everyone,


Nice to read the discussions posted. My son, will be joining VS-IP soon since we are going to mention VS as first choice in DSA form. Can someone help me address my basic queries.
1. What is the normal class strength, more than 30?
2. Will class be according to psle scores or mixed?
3.what is the normal school end time, apart from CCA and other activity.
4.My son very interested in science. can he participate in competitions like Olympiads?

Can someone share with me your school football cca team? Does the cca require to stay back very frequent per week? Does this football cca require someone to be in pri school team then able to join? If one plays well, can he join?

My DS is good in soccer but his pri school doesn't have cca soccer. He is interested to select sec school having football/soccer as cca.

VS is quite far from our home but there are not many good sec school with football/soccer as cca for junior high.

So I have hoping to get some feedback. Thanks for sharing.

My ds is not in football team but based on the 2014 cca trials schedule for sec/ip 1, there were 12 vacancies available for football earlier this year. That means any pupil with potential and interest can be selected.
Instructions on the trials will be disseminated to pupils in early Jan during school orientation. Please note that it is a 'cca with stringent selection criteria'.

I do not know how to interpret the full-field/half-field cca schedule for football but it could possibly be 3 times per week and additional training may be required during competition season.

1. IP - about 30 O lvl - about 40
2. Mixed
3. Varies btw 1pm-4+pm.Yr1/Sec1 shortest day Yr4/Sec4 longest day. Depends on class combo.
4. Selection depends on results in lower sec.

My son is a VS sportsman. He played his sport once a week for 1.5h in pri sch. His nbh pri sch does not participate in Nat competition. No coach and team is too small. Selected for competitive sport once he enters VS. ALL sports are competitive in VS so traing is v intensive for those sports that wins. His traing was 4x a week, became 6x closer to competition. Soccer is 5x traing. They do 'review' sports that r not performg.
I remembered my son was asked to join soccer in sec2 although he was in another sport. He was also asked to join discus/javelin traing. He declined bcos I will 'kill' him. Sports teams in VS r on the lookout for talent all yr round not just in Sec1.

November Open House (Sat, 22 Nov 2014).

The second VS Open House for 2014 will be held on Saturday, 22 Nov, 9am-12noon, for Primary 6 boys.
During the Open House, there will be a sharing on key programmes (Victoria-Cedar Alliance Integrated Programme, Art Elective Programme, Regional Studies Programme and Talent Development Programmes), school tours conducted by our student ambassadors and Principal’s talk.

Hi, may I know what is the fastest way to get from Punggol Edgedale Plains to Victoria School and from Simei to Victoria School?


Need to find out both locations as I will be moving from Simei to Punggol next year.
