Hi I think those who are shortlisted for sports would be told. My boy told me he was shortlisted but I did not ask him if he was told verbally or if there was a list. Same for his friend who was shortlisted for a different sport.
Perhaps you can email the CCA teacher in charge. -

That's what my DS told me too. He was given a \"confirm\" in one sport and \"shortlisted\" for a few others. The teachers in charge just told him verbally but I think for those kids who have the attributes that a particular CCA is looking for, the teachers would have noted down their names. Hence, if those who are given \"confirm\" or \"shortlisted\" and put those CCA as one of their top choices, chances of getting in will be high.Hi I think those who are shortlisted for sports would be told. I have also heard some boys were told while others totally no mentioned at all. Does this mean that those who were not told at all do not have the potential in all the sport trials? Hence, for these boys, the selection are based on space availability only? Anyone has any idea on space availability for these sports? (e.g. badminton 10 pax, soccer 22 pax, rugy 15 pax, etc). Any idea when must the option be submitted?

I have sent an email to the school and requesting the school to share the vacancies for each CCA. Then we will be in a better position to gauge our ds chances of getting in. Hopefully I can get a positive response.

Campfire will be moved to hall in event of rain. -
I heard that options/choices for CCA must be submitted but anyone here know how to go about this? Is it online?

I was impressed with the Sec 1 orientation campfire and can feel the boys are filled with the Josephian spirit. Great thanks to the HOL/Class Tutors/PSL/PSF and everyone involved. :hi5:

Mr Tan mentioned the boys have been briefed on this, yes online and the online forms will be up by the next weekend.
My son's classmates was \"offered\" entry by a few CCAs. My son was only told by canoeing that he has good chance to get in if placed as first choice, the others didn't say anything so I guess means not good chance :rotflmao:
Indeed very well organised orientation, from the programmes to traffic co-ordination :rahrah: This morning my son was still singing St. Joseph's Call and We are Lasallians !
JRLam, did your boy recover in time to join the camp and campfire ? -

Hi Pixiedust,
Thanks for your concern. He took the anti-biotic cream and eyedrop along to the camp. The infection didn't flare up further then, but eye got swollen now after the camp! Well, at least it only got worse after the camp
I am glad he did attend the camp and the campfire, they were both excellent activities to let the boys get to know each other in a fun setting, and to start the 4-yrs journey on a high note. He now dreads to start school 'officially' next Mon -
The sec 1 class level web page is updated. Here is a cut & paste on CCA selection…
On-line Sec 1 CCA Option from 18 Jan, 0800 hrs (Fri) to 21 Jan, 1800hrs (Mon).
The Sec 1s have undergone various CCA Orientation (test, trials, etc) in the past 2 weeks as part of the Sec 1 Orientation Programme which has allowed them to experience the various facets of secondary school life and expose him to the Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) which are available. Kindly note that the Sports & Aesthetics Tests / Trials is only an identification process and NOT a selection for a CCA. For more information on CCA, please refer to pp. 85 – 89 of the school diary. All Sec 1s have been briefed and the above. They were also shown how to exercise their CCA Option on-line.
We seek your support in helping your son in choosing and encouraging him in his chosen CCA. A student is expected to keep to his chosen core CCA for his 4 years of secondary education at SJI. Resignation and transfer to another CCA is not an option open to any student. A student can only resign from his original CCA commitment and seek a transfer to an alternative CCA if the Principal finds his reasons acceptable (e.g. medical grounds). -
