PSLE 2009 RESULTS!!

KSP:
Great idea! Now to figure out how to implementChief,
Why don't you create a contest to let us guess which school the top student will come from? You can allocate say 10,000 KS points for the winner/s. The sole winner will get all the 10,000 points. If there are more than 1 winner then it will be shared equally. How does it sound to you?

In my girl's school, the girls sat in the front of the hall while their parents behind. After the top girls were announced, the teachers gave out the results to the other girls by index order.
She knew where we sat and turned to look at us after she'd collected hers. She looked pleased with herself and instantly, our anxiety were replaced by relief. Phew!
Can't imagine the tension and anxiety among the parents if results were given out in classrooms.
:nailbite:
Well, next week is my boy's turn but no nail-biting moments for us. We only hope that he could at least meet the min cop.
Good luck to all P6s getting their results next week!
PS: Chief, are you sure you wanna promote \"gambling\" here? -
Well, the people here have nothing to lose. Perhaps a little bit disappointed like most of the PSLE students and parents when the result is out.
The KS points is just to reward people (or some people) who participate and guess it right. You can change the KS points to something else like those auction items but you may have problem if 50 people make the right guess.
The survey result itself may serve as a very good indicator of how most parents here feel which school will produce top student right from their heart.
So far in this forum the ranking of primary schools are based on
1. Past years PSLE results
2. "Popularity" based on P1 registration
I think we should have one that is based on the selection from our KS forum members.
Feel free to comment if I am suggesting something "illegal" here. -

Other may cry because they miss the cut-off of NYGH or RGS ... Boys are not as emotional.[
Be prepared to see students crying
and hugging the parents ... Its quite sad and emotion. One case I witnessed, a girl cried because she only scored 240+, not to her expectation.

No, it's not gambling if you don't lose anything
. Anyway, the intent is to gauge what parents really think of Primary schools, ie. why they think certain primary schools can produce top students.
Contest is now open:

I am thinking, something like this. All contributions are welcome and I strongly encourage parents of kids in neighbourhood schools to contribute as well. How about that ?

The boys in my daughter's class cried buckets during and after the Maths paper. They are less resilient , I guess, maybe , mama's boys.
They will cry less when they become men. But I like men who are able to shed tears..
- at least they show some emotion and not so wooden la..(or act cool - in the words of my daughter)

Its 9 days moreโฆas the results days draw nearer, the tension is being built up. My sonโs Sch is celebrating their P6 Graduation Day this Thursday. For us its also an emotional day as he will be leaving his Primary school and moving on to Secondary sch. Last weekend we were looking back the days when he entered P1. The Orientation, new uniform, P1 books, new friends - a whole new beginning. Looking at the pix made us teary eyedโฆ It was a very nolgastic kinda of feeling and learnt how fast time has passed. He is our first born, henceโฆ
Well, I would like to wish all our beautiful children all the very best next week and hope all their dreams and wished be fullfilled. -

My girl was having this type of emotion during that time too. Everyone was busy preparing autographs, gifts for their special friends, gifts for the whole class. This type of feeling lasted for sometime when they were in early Sec one. They do contact once a while in fb, sms but the exposure is definately wider in Sec School and most of them are happy with new friends and a new life. -
I donโt think the result slips are sealed but Iโm not very sure. Can someone tell me. Thanks.
