From Wat I See, Pencil Slim Body Shape, Long-Leg-Long-Arm type is the thing they Look ForHello there, I'm new to this thread. My dd is in her sch RG team. She tried thrice in the trial selection since P1 but was not selected. Any hints what are the criteria for selection?
My dd enjoys RG and I'm keen to sign her up for classes outside of her sch CCA. Seems like Prime and Fly Once are the gyms that produce competitive gymnasts. Will check out.
Dd has music and ballet too. Will see how to juggle with her school work too.
To Make the Initial Selection from a pool of 100's young Kids, of More or Less Similar gym skills .... Not so easy to spot talent -le!
Of Course a Certain Degree of Flexibilities is expected, and prev Gym experience is an added advantage
Btw, did your Gal compete in the recent Inter-Sch RG?
She Must be Good to do so.
Don't Give up, do know of a case where the kid is not selected in the prev selection trial but is accepted tis time round. -
Thanks Funx3. Ya will encourage dd to keep pressing on.
Nope, she did not as she is learning the apparatus like rope and ball which need more mastery. She’s P3 this year. She did the freehand last year though and was very good experience. -

Yeah Good Exposure
How did her team perform last year?
with Training in Rope and Ball in P3 tis year, I guess she shd be able to take part in Both Group Lev 2 FH, and Individual Event for Rope and Ball next year in P4.
So, Jia You! :rahrah: :rahrah:
Just curious, U saying that your gal is also busy with Ballet and Music (I assume Piano?), apart from sch RG - I Assume 2x a week?
R U aware tt National Team Training for Junior Team 3 is 5x per week, 3 to 4 hrs per session? -
Not in the top three placing but was a good exposure. Guess some of them were really nervous performing before panel of judges.
Yes, dd is learning piano and ballet (CSTD). She's by far more flexible compared to her peers. Let's see.
Yes, I'm aware of the intensive trainings at national training sessions. See how it goes.
Thanks for your encouragement.
:thankyou: -
Hello, anyone knows if there is a competition coming up in June? My dd told me there is one and her gym friends and her will be watching as spectators to cheer on the Singapore team. Hmm, interesting that it is held during school holidays…

:whut: :? I think she is too young for gymnastics..2+ is not the age for learning gymnastics :imdrowning:Title: Above and Beyond Gymnastics and Sport
I'm thinking of sending my little dynamo of a daughter for some gymnastics classes. She may only be 2+, but when she wins all her fights with my 8yo son. She's the nighmare of all our babysitters and maids - your eyes leave her for a moment and she's clamboring up the gate in our PES the very next second.
I can across http://www.abgymsport.com/?page_id=80. Wonder if anyone have tried them before. -
im looking for a starter gymnastics class for my 6yo DD. we are from east side. which of the following would you recommend for somebody with no gymnastics background? Im thinking of sending her for recreation first. if she likes it then continue to competitive class…
FlyOnce
Alpha Gymnastics Club
Prime Gymnastics Club
Bazgym Gymnastics School
