What about RV and MGS? Also, I think distance should be not a consideration factor but the overall enviorment. That said, Crescent is good too.[/quote]Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts and guidance. RV is a good choice but my husband prefer to send her to Girls' only school. So my choice is limited.
They are staying in the West. Dunman High is not near the West at all.Jennifer:

257 going to cresent is a bit waste. maybe dunman high??? :?
Crescent Girls is a very good sch. Definitely not a waste.
As of now my prefernce goes to MGS and Option 2 as Crescent.
Any idea what is this the main difference if we compare MGS vs Crescent? -

need help as still cannot decide what school choice for my DD
We stay in Bukit batok, dd is from Bukit panjang Pri, she has 229, A* for English, A for Science and Chines, B for Maths
She wanted a girl school, not too far from home. She enjoys drama, dances
We are trying St Margaret as 1st choice but definitely needs to appeal as COP is 238. I know it sounds impossible but still want to try as her score of 229 dont give much choice
To appeal, we have to go to the school personally on 23rd dec? Cos we are in Shanghai till 27th, if that is the case, we have to change the flight to return earlier
the other option is simply take nearby school to save her travelling time
other choices are as follow
Nan Chiau(231 sengkang) quite far
Fuhua(229 Chinese Garden)
Kranji(229 Chua Chu Kang)
Bukit Batok(221)
Clementi Town(230 Clementi)
Presbyterian High(229 Yio Chu Kang)
Chung Cheng High(230 Khtaib)
CHIJ St Joseph(226 Sengkang, girls school)
Kuo Chuan(227 Bishan)
What should our choice order be as above?
Anyone has good experiences at any of the above schools? In term of transport, are they conveniently located near bus stop/MRT etcc, notorious for gang/gangster in any of the schools? dd is quite timid
thank you in advance for any help in this. it is now 1.15am, as you can see I am desperate -
hi danlim,
can understand how u feel..desperate is not a good feeling...
would u consider West Spring which is in Bt panjang? if I'm not wrong, the COP is ard 223(please check on that)..it's supposed to be 1 of the better school in Bt Panjang..I have a student from there, so far my impression of the school, teachers & students are quite good..think it is also not too far from Bt Batok..but may have to change bus..think u better check on that..
Hope this helps in some ways

You can also consider SCGS. RGS COP last year was 260, not sure if it will go down this year. But worth a try, anyway, posting is by merit, so you can always place RGS as your first choice, followed by MGS, SCGS, Crescent. St. Nicholas will be another good choice, if distance is not an issue. -

My sincere advice to you is put St Margaret as first choice, second choice has to be somewhere you and your girl can be comfortable for a year to perform well.need help as still cannot decide what school choice for my DD

Start your dialogue with SMSS as early as possible, call them, email them, visit them, make appointment with the principal to argue your case....but you have to have put SMSS as first choice to justify your persistent appeal. You have a chance, on appeal. Based on t-score, no chance. If she performs well academically for sec 1 else where, there is a good chance for transfer
It is a good girl school, good environment, good value system, yes, they got gold with honours for chinese dance
SMSS is now an autonomous school -
My dd decided not to try SMSS
any feedback on Presbyterian High, what are their school fees since this is govt aided
Comparing to Kranji, Clementi Town Sec, is PHS better choice since we stay around Bukit Batok area and my dd has 229 -
cresent girls and anderson secondary? which is better for tscore of 245?
