Hi, I'm new here .. son in P6, so will need advice from the experienced parents here. Received email from HCI on sports trial yesterday, find it weird as my son applied under the GE domain. Was surprised to receive the sports trial info so I called HCI to check and they could not see my son's application under the GE, but saw it under Sports.


I had already written an email requesting them to change, but still a little worried if they are tracking his application afterall. Any parents with calls or emails from HCI for the Free Response and Interview for GE pupils, please share so I know what is going on.

it so happen that most of top (few) schools in Singapore are either boy school or girls school..RI,HCI, NYGH, RGS...the Big 4 .....of course lately we have NUSHS

I have not received anything from HCI either. They had this puzzling online question which might have cause some confusion:

Were you previously offered a place in MOE GEP?
Yes (if yes, you need to supply MOE letter of offer)
No
I just put \"Yes\" for the above question.

Same same here....Because the other answer not right le ....

there are pupils who was offered GEP by MOE but did not take up....hopefully they did not throw away the offer letter lah

Sure! Apply for all top four later got posted and accepted HCI's offer, scored 265 or better in PSLE and appealed to RI. Wasting time! Must apply only those that interested should be the way lah.

Congrats to Vlim…! So when do you think they will start sending emails for interview? I suppose emails for those who need to do GAT first… but wonder when emails for interviews will come…

Do GEP students need to take any written test at HCI DSA? Will all GEP students be shortlisted for DSA at HCI otherwise what criterial they use to shortlist the students? Do they have < or > 80% performance guidline like RI ?

Wah! Parents here really take the trouble to inquire. During my dd's time few years, no preparation for GAT, don't know what to expect. On the actual date, saw many many RGS girls also attempting the test conducted by NGHS. Mine anyhow chiong also ok lah.

That question is confusing. It should apply to students who were offered GEP but didn't take it up right?

It just so happens that the top schools are all single sex schools.
