      Hi rss and hexagon,

So which school is your ds first choice? And the 3 schools which your ds are applying for DSA will end up with diff certificate.

      RI is his first choice.
NUSH because he likes science and was enticed by the interactive display featured during the open house (he said \" its like science centre mummy, so fun\")
ACS(I) because he likes the fact that they have lots of CCAs to choose from.

As you can see, he is 12 going 6, everything is about fun. IB, diplomas and A levels dont mean a thing. If we didnt put our feet down, he would also want to apply to HCI, DH, VS and any other schools that seem remotely fun.

We rather not talk about choices till DSA results is out. if no CO, we have no choices!

      Anyway we chose
      # nush because SA is passionate about maths. Like the module system and accelerated learning.
      # ACSI because it is world IB school and IB is gaining world recognition as superior to the A levels. also like the christian and caring environment.
#RI because of proximity. only 15 min bus ride there.

Looks like so many applied for RI.

All got dates for GAT already or still waiting for email ?
Anyone else applied for NJC too ?
Looks like all GE boys applied for RI, 350 ge boys going for perhaps 50-100 places. RI total DSA vacancies=200, but there are 4 domains, so divided by 4 only 50 places?? Looks like more than half of the GE boys will be disappointed!

For GE boys applying for RI, they do not need to specify which domain they are applying. According to last year's DSA application, RI had 50% of its intake set aside for DSA. Out of these 225 vacancies, almost 80% for GE students and the balance split among sports and mainstream. More mainstream students will be dissapointed as compared to GE students.

No email or sms from RI today.

So guess my DS’s GAT will in in July.
None of his classmates has received any email from RI yet.

I guess another factor to consider is on whether co ed or single sex school.

I have a friend who is so against co ed secondary schools.
Basically girls are trouble. That’s exactly what she said. lol.

Mainstreamers who apply to RI via academic domain will need to take the GAT, and subsequently the selection test if successful. Maybe RI puts the mainstreamers into the GAT first as they have another round of selection test to do compared with the GEP. I know mainstreamers who have already received notice of test dates once they submit their paper application.
