Last year 97% of geppers were successful in dsa, meaning they get at least one co.

I always have this worry that if a student performs badly at A level in a IP programme, there is nothing to fall back on. Not even an O level. And if a students went thru DSA may not even have a good PSLE score to fall back on.

At least for IB 30% is based on daily work and NUSH is the modular system.

So in situation that an unfortunate event just before A level exam affects a student's result tremendously, what can the student do next ?

        Join SIM/pte unis. No worries.

Anybody knows how to prepare for nus high selection test? What is the format and the type of questions that they will ask?

One of the question someone posted earlier was what is the chemical formula for common salt. I suspect it will be a portion of everything.

            Supposedly math and science components.
Math questions mainly math olympiad type of questions.
Science is about lower secondary school standard.

In HCI, also the future IP schools, those who really can't cope with the programme will be able to take 'O' level within the same school. So no worry.

Ds went for ri gat today. Over 200 boys were there, geppers as well as boys in the sports and academic domain. Essentially gat date is determined by application dates.

How did he find the test? My friend's went and said couldn't finish the test. But then many of those who went also couldn't finish?

From the newspaper reports on Poly students, seems like quite a few also go in from RI or HCI. No problem - they just use their school results to apply after Sec 4. So, their school results are recognised too, even though they don't have O-levels. These are the \"opt-outs\" from the IP system.

NJC test is also 3-hours. 1 hour for each paper. My elder son says should have enough time to finish the paper and check. But even if you finish early, you can't go on to the next paper bc each paper starts together with the rest in the following hour.

That's why not sure whether subjecting DS to 2 3 hour tests is a bit too much or not.
Then got the RI GAT somemore.

My elder boy said the NJC test not so tough lah. Can finish ahead of time and can have time to check also. It's only English/Math/Abstract. Cannot be as mind-boggling as the NUSH science/math 3-hr marathon, right? haha. RI-GAT is less than 1 hour only, right?

My son went for the RI GAT today, 20 mins to complete 60 questions. He could not finish the test. His friends also could not finish too.
