Just wondering if both sets of questions are the same. why so much time difference allocated ?
Heard someone’s son who sat for both VS and RI GAT also said the questions are the same/similar. -

Or in the Past, with the 1 hr paper, Too Many Students Getting similar Good Results? So Cannot identify those really outstanding Ones? -

:thankyou: sooooo much pigylalala for advise :hugs:Paddy Field:
Since the interview is conducted in group of 3, the child must be mentally prepared that the other 2 boys may be more chatty and more expressive than he is. Advise your child to stay calm and be himself. From what my son has shared with me last year, the interview was more like a casual talk unlike in HCI. They asked him how did he get to RI that day and how many times had he been to RI? GEP students with SA1 > 80% are highly likely to get a CO from RI. Not to worry too much and all the best to all :rahrah: -

[quote=\"PiggyLalala\"]Let your child decide on what he wants to bring- something he has confidence and passion in so that should the interviewer ask any questions on it, he can impress them with his answers.
Thanks for e advice. So do u have any other advice for e kids?
Looks like HCI change this year cos to my DS, his interview there was like a chit chat session - similar to oral. Is it based on statistics when u mentioned that GE students w >80% likely to get CO so long as interview goes smoothly? -

Based on my son’s class last year. For DSA to RI, all students with >80% got a CO from RI. -

No need to be > 250 for PSLE. I remember the HOD of my DS school told the parents that once they got the CO thru DSA, the kids only need to get > 200 for PSLE. Since they applied thru GE domain, they'll continue with GE prog.
http://www.nanhuapri.moe.edu.sg/wbn/slot/u1229/Event_Calendar/Sch_Events/P6%20MTP%20120111/GEP%20slides/P6_ADGE_parents_briefing_12_Jan_11_PRINTING%5B1%5D.pptKloggy:
What I gather from a parent's briefing at the beginning of the year was :
1. Pass in social studies means overall for P6 at least 70% -- this includes SS portfolio (20%), FPS project (20%), CT (20%), End-of-year exam(40%)
3. PSLE performance above 250. If below, then the teachers and GE branch discuss whether can promote as GE status.
I understand promoted as GE status gets you that EESIS scholarship. But suppose get into IP program via DSA and yet PSLE < 250, do the child still continue in the SBGE classes in the secondary school ? Anyone knows ?
From slides from briefing by someone from GE branch at NHPS this year.
70% for SS was mentioned but not the 250 for PSLE.
I remembered she specifically told us that as long as the child can get DSA to those schools with SBGE on the MOE list, they can maintain the GE status. -

Did you get these information from school or your DS provided them? I find it really hard to bait such information from my DS, :frustrated: information such as who in the class apply to which DSA, who is >80%, etc, maybe he is really the bo chap type. Or maybe I have a real communication problem with him,

For me, the answer is NO.
Anyone can share or comment?
Thank you -
Blur Dad:
Maybe an ACSP or ACSJ kid who applied just as a back up but accidentally blurted out that his intention is going ACSI all the while and ACSI is better. LOL
