You have to pass SS to be awarded GEP status in secondary school. Not difficult to pass.

May I suggest that RI interview date and time is arranged according to their BC number as such their birthday. DS' s friend who was borned just 2 weeks before him has his interview 1/2 h before my DS. DS's classmate who was borned 1 month before DS has interview date 2 day earlier. So i think it is sorted by Birth Cert Number not results or school or anything else.

Maybe huh .... My ds is born in around mid Jan la..

Cannot be lah, mine is year end kid and he is just 2 days after vlim's.

Ge proomotion is solely based on Ss preliminary exam. Do they look into Ss exams since p4 gep?[/quote]No, it's not based solely on SS. This is from the MOE website:

After Primary 6, promotion to the next level of gifted education is based on:

1. performance in the GEP from Primary 4 to 6, including a pass in Social Studies
2. attitude towards work and the enrichment programme
3. performance at the PSLE

Tks for the update NJmom. Agree that this DSA thing is definitely a good experience for the girls where they have to work for something that they want.


Hope DD will receive her notice for interview from NYGH soon. Then we can close DSA chapter.

Yes, DD is from GE. Interview is this Thursday. My hubby got the call notification yesterday and we had the email today. Thks for the tips.

Apparently, only 1 other of DD's classmate has been also called up for interview. Also less than 80% for SA1. Maybe NYGHs and RGS has some form of understanding and arrangement between themselves. RGS calls up the >80% GE first...and NYGHs the reverse....

Gd luck to all... it will be a good experience for the girls. :lovesite:
