the transfer out is ......(pm me if you wan to know the tooth)
Not true. In year 1, they will put only those that are weak in the PSLE result in sports class. I know of sport-DSAed student with high 24x going to normal year 1 class. In RI, there are no O level class. If your result is not good, you have to transfer to another sec. School to take O level. I know a few Year 3 students who have done so.HyperKiasu:
One parent told me that if kids are sport-DSAed into RI, they will be put under sports class and given easier stuff to study and in Sec 4, they still need to take O level. Can any parent confirm this?

The % of cohort given out at DSA depends on the type of school, specialized schools, e.g. SOTA, NUSH etc - 100%, IP schools - 50%, etc Refer to this MOE article.
yes, same for NYGH and RGS

yes those IP schools who are also independent school has 100% discretion on admission policy - NUSH opted for 100% via DSA while the other 4 -- RIRGSHCINYGH opted for 50% DSA and 50% S1 posting, NJC though is IP but is not IS so its admission policy must follow MOE guideline

there is no transfer out... \"DSAed-Students-via-Sports put under sports class in RI and sit for OLevel\" was simply parents' speculative lah.
THanks all the same, verykiasu2010 :thankyou: -
haha, pure speculation

DSA is for those who have exhibited exceptional ability in a particular academic domain, sport or aesthetic field over and beyond that of their peers. So if your child is planning to apply for DSA under Math domain, then of course Math Olympiad results are very important. If not, then it's not important. It's nice to have and may add on to the portfolio but not that important. What's important is to excel in the domain you have applied under, be it English, HCL, etc.
market recognize platinum winner for MO demonstrate exceptional abiltiy for the math domain. how about HCL? need to show something in the 写作比赛 or 演讲比赛? can any parents share successful case of HCL DSA ? (never realize before HCL can be used for DSA)

it seems you are referring to RI's DSA as quoted above .... for which case each subject is a DSA domain by itself.jtoh:

each year there is about 70+ MO platinum which seems to RI is an ability in Math but not exceptional nor beyond their peers ..... because their peers are getting platinum ...
using CL/HCL for DSA is not unheard of -- NYGH and HCI accept DSA candidates under bilingual talent
