We were at the nygh tea session too. The principal's words were such music to our ears. We now having celebratory lunch!

:congrats: Your dd got a CO too?

DD got WL from NYGH, at tea session with principal this morning. She gave assurance that all with WL will be given a place so long as we put it as first choice. Really think the NYGH culture is a considerate and gentle one that even for waitlist, the principal said she does not wish to add stress and anxiety to the parents ... :celebrate:
:congrats: DaddyDaddy and your dd.

        Same boat.... πŸ™ :xedfingers:

        Same same ...
Me too, but just pray that we get our CO! (It's still possible) πŸ™ :xedfingers:

Yes, DD and I really like Mdm Heng and we think that the NYGH culture under her leadership will be a gentler one than the culture in RGS.

My dear niece went to class today and this is what she recounted. Class of 10 boys : 3 COs, 6WLs, 1 don't know yet. The high number of WLs is worrying.

            Hi breanne,

That is a high number of WLs. I guess the COs and WLs are from RI and NUSH. Maybe with HCI's results the numbers might become more positive? What about the girls in the class? Better news for them?

Oh these numbers are purely from RI too. My niece is the only girl in that tuition class πŸ˜„

that is why outside talk is that Mdm Heng has a lot of pulling power .... so will continue to see high cut off point for NYGH in the coming years

she is really very capable and a well liked principal

I haven't heard of Mdm Heng before this and now that we have met her , I find her a truly outstanding and charismatic principal. I have also met the RGS principal during the Open House talk. She is, no doubt, also very capable but strikes me as a very business like lady with none of Mdm Heng's warmth and personality. I just feel more comfortable leaving my DD in Mdm Heng's hands.

Yes she did and got COs from RGS and NYGH, a very focused and determined girl who has decided upfront that it will be RGS and nothing else.

Mdm Heng was VP in NYPS, then became principal of NYPS for a number of years before being promoted to head NYGH, so she has been in the NY family of schools for many years...and has seen many batches of NYPS kids pass under her watch.

Now that she is heading NYGH, many of the existing NYPS kids still remember her and of course want to go where she is ....... almost all the girls from my DS class last year went to NYGH except 1 girl in RGS
