But isnโt ACI GEP only meant to be for GEP students only?? u mean they also take in ACS(P) & ACS(J) main streamers for GEP class? Or ACI does not have classes specially for GEP students?[/quote]
No, GEPers and Main Streamers can apply to ASC(I) IP 6 years programme. There are no ACS(I) GEP classes for GEP students only. -
Hi Penn88n,
U mean ur DS is going for interview at hci?
Has anyone received CO from hci?

Hi cestmoi, sorry to hear that. I'm sure with your dd's credentials, she will excel in any school she chooses to go.:gloomy: Aiyo...today is such a wet & gloomy day!
Just recvd rejection email from RGS.. Scratching our heads why DD is rejected...DD is a mainstreamer, top gal in a neighbourhood sch, scoring above 90% since P1, has UNSW High distinctions & other awards, won at least two individual trophies for National Competiton in sports since P4. During the last interview with RGS, DD felt she had done her best & her classmate who was in the same interview as her, witnessed the interviewers being visibly impressed with DD & she congrats her for her superb eloquence & quick thinking. DD as usual in her humble self dismissed the praises.
Luckily, we hv set our eyes with NYGH ( of which a CO has already been recvd :rahrah: ) way before & there was just no deep sense of disappointment but full of WHYs huh? :? -
MandyMummy:
Ya, sorry to hear and the good thing is that she had secured a CO. Yes I do agree that it's rather puzzling as there doesn't seem to be a norm to this year's DSA. Cousin's son achieved NSW High distinction in math, SMOPS Platinum, RIWMC Distinction, NMOS Gold and yet was rejected by RI too. :?

oh no!!!! in this case, the chance is not high here as well!!!!
My main worry here is that given that children in GEP prog only started revision in P6 & have heard that there're GEPers that didn't do well in PSLE. What if my DS can't do well in PSLE??? I feel extremely worried when any of the relative told my DS \"oh, u sure no prob lah, in GEP leh....\" I'm worried that my DS couldn't take it if he did not do well in PSLE.... I'm now trying to tell him that he can also excel if he does not go to good IP school as long as he works hard. -
gracy:
NSW High distinction in math, SMOPS Platinum, RIWMC Distinction, NMOS Gold only serves to confirm that he is among the better ones in Math, but is not proof of exceptional talent beyond his peers - which is what RI is seeking via DSA. That has been the stated objective...but not to loose heart, if PSLE achieve high score still can appeal and get in

wow! wonder what qualifies as exceptional talent beyond his peers for a P6 boy :yikes: So disheartening!

ACSI only offered a few COs to its own ACPS GEP boys last year. That was under the old P. Not sure if things will be different this year.

Don't panic. Your son's only in P5 now right? Tell him to work hard, boost his academics and chalk up more certificates. Next year, apply to a maximum of 3 schools. It could be that this year's batch is stronger with more scoring >80% and so the competition's tougher. Things might be different next year.
