My friend DS who is from mainstream and applied under maths domain, but rejected by RI also. I know the boy is a very capable kid who is one of the top students in a SAP school in west area. He got high distinction 2011 UNSW science. won distinction in RI Math, Platinum in SMOPS, Gold (one of top 30th) in NMOS, Gold ACS Math Olympics. Distinction for ABRSM piano Grade 8,school prefect, completed 2-year MOE TTLT program……. Unable to figure out WHY being rejected.

because he is only at the top of his cohort, he could enter RI using his t-score

what RI is looking for at DSA is candidates with talent beyond their peers....

just an indication of what they do in sec one math : choose your favourite mathematician and his theory and make a presentation on what it is all about, together with all the proofs and power point slides...make sure your class understand you

in p6 gep..the kids have to do a Maths Alternative Assessment which they have to choose one of the given topics (theory) and do a 'writeout' and explanation on it..but no need to do slide presentation...but should be a simplier form la as compare to what vk2010 has mentioned...
          so sound familiar.. πŸ˜‰

Surprised that this boy was not in GEP.
Did the parents ope not to enrol him in GEP ?
Only one 2 SAP schools in the west and both have GEP right ?

I think most of us have not met one another, and maybe that's why we can talk so freely (hiding behind our nick) online. Very easy to \"bond\" with these aunties and uncles online, just need a sense of humor and after you see one another online for a while, the \"character\" will emerge πŸ˜‰ We are also a very \"thick-skinned\" lot, who do not mind people (or even we ourselves) poking fun at us!

Just received the corrected email. Check ur mails and confirm. πŸ™‚
You are invited to attend Phase 2B interview session. Please click on this link to confirm your attendance for this interview session by Friday, 19 August 2011 using the login id and password provided below:

                  Thanks. Just confirm our attendance.
However the timing not very ideal.
                  Day activity finish at 11.
Then must go back for interview again at 3.

Ya lor...my DD's is 230. Guess they want to do the interview after their lunch break. So what do we do....sit there & admire NJC...hee. Guess we will head home first then return again.[/quote]I think they want us to bring the kids home to freshen up if possible then return again.
My boy took the Hast in Casual clothes but maybe school uniform may be more appropriate for interview.
However considering the conditions of my boy's uniform maybe not a bad idea to go in casual.

PS. Reading thru the printout of the email, the attire was stated as P.E. attire lol.

                    Hi ngbrdad,
Will all candidates get an interview that day or only short-listed ones ???
Maybe NJC need time to discuss who will proceed to the interview round??

                    Good luck! :xedfingers:
