Tinkerbelle:
No, DD is not in RGS now. Has a CO from RGS so will be there next year. She's a mainstreamer so I guess there'll be lots of adjustment to the learning styles, projects and presentations etc. Might :imdrowning: initially...Hopefully, she'll eventually pick up these new skills.
My dd's in a GEP class but I'm assuming the worksheet's generic. Is your dd in RGS?jtoh:

Hi jtoh,
Is this maths presentation a generic project for all Year 1 at RGS? Or it is just for the GEP classes? Tks.
That's great, Tinkerbelle. I knew you had a dd who got a CO from RGS but don't know why had this impression you had another dd already in RGS. Did your dd apply via academic domain? The majority of RGS girls are from mainstream so there shouldn't be too much problem adjusting.

:thankyou:
:congrats:Paddy Field:
:thankyou: TwaTau
My DS SA1 results is only border-line 80%. But he has some accolades that may boost his application. And he is very vocal, so it may have left an impression with e RI interviewers. But ACSI I did not really look thru his personal statement, so cannot comment much.
All the best to your DS on the NJC activity n interview. -

Thanks fruitteller.
Congratulations!!!! do they inform you at this point if it is the IP programme?
Happy for you!!!
I think successful DSAed students will be in the IP programme. -
Actually the ‘materialism’ thing featured in our minds too when DS got the ACSI CO. Frankly, I think there are more well-to-do families in ALL IP schools. This is likely because the parents are usually more concerned about their children’s studies, and can afford enrichment classes or spend more time coaching their children. If you look at the cars that go to schools like RI, RGS, ACSI, MGS, HCI, NYGH, you will know what I mean. Having said that, because ACSI IB program is purely on merit with no affiliation points, the boys do come from all walks of life. No worries about that. Mine came from a neighbourhood school.
As to discipline problems, I have not heard or seen anything so far that concern me. It is a boys’ school, so boys will be boys. Of course, there are Year 5 & 6 girls in the campus as well. -
anybody knows the actual date for dhs results??

wow, went out for 4 hours and this thread grown by 10 pages !
Congrats to all we continue to receive CO!
For those yet to receive CO or not successful, don’t give up - work hard with the target in mind ! You can do it…one of the character you learn in Pri 5 / 6 as part of total defence : resilience !! Cheong ah …for the PSLE
All the best for the PSLE !!
now old man must go back to work …US time -
Ngbrdad, you shouldn’t worry about that. DS is in ACS, and boys all mix very well. All good kids; not flash. The kids are no different from kids in any other gep school - focused on getting grades (very competitive), playing with friends, deciding which school to go to etc. Parents of these kids have to work too, and worry about our kids’ future - so we’re all pretty much in the same boat with everyone else.

Congrats!! My son also just received the CO from ACSI. So relieved!! Will be meeting the new principal this Friday. Really eager to hear what directions he has for the school.
Is your sona GEPper and from ACS too??
So your ACS boy will Continue his Sec Sch Journey in ACSI ....
Yes he is a die-hard ACSian so I suppose it is a no-brainer. He thinks the IB will be more his cup of tea.
A LOt of ACSIAN are very loyal and usually prefer to conyinue their study in ACS school. Good Loyalty.
