Are you referring to the personal statement for RGS DSA? If so, then it is very specific and is specified in rgs website (http://www.raffles.sg/dsasec1rgs.html). I have extracted the information

      below from the website:

      A personal statement:
On a separate sheet of paper, respond to one of the following:

      1. The Raffles Programme is committed to the development of the person, the thinker, the leader and the pioneer. Describe a situation from your experience that required you to uphold a value or principle dear to you. Tell us what difficulties you encountered (if any) and how you dealt with them.

      2. Write about something that you have accomplished (other than grades) in school or in the community, which you are proud of. Describe how you went about achieving it and why you think it was significant.

This personal statement should be hand written in no more than 500 words. After you have completed it, please sign your name as an attestation that it is your own authentic and original work.

Personally, I feel that's the way it should be. The current practice of allowing a student to appeal after accepting a DSA place deprives other students of a place in the DSA school.

Hi Have just attended a Tea Session with Principal - DSA Sports for P6 in RGS on Mon evening.

Just Sharing Some of the Info with Parents in this Forum ....

For RGS : Sports Domain for DSA
            Gymnastics : Artistic, Rhythmic
            Badminton, Basketball, Golf, Netball,
            Sailing, Swimming, Squash,
            Shooting : Air-Rifle & Air Pistol
            Table-Tennis, Tennis, Ten-Pin Bowling

Confirmed Gals will be informed by 31 Aug 2011. Gals in Same Sports Domain will be placed in same Class, spread over a few classes. No \"Sports\" Class.

All will have to go thru GAT test, and interviews. Sports Trials, if any will be informed.

Not Specific Exam-based, but test every 3 weeks, with projects inter-spersed in between. Extension of submission deadline will be given to Gals taking part in Major Sports competition, due to heavy training schedules.

Gals can take up a 2nd CCA, if they can manage. But No backing out of DSA CCA thru the Sec sch studies.

And One Very Interesting implimentation ....
ALL Year 1 will be using either MacBook or iPad for studies from 2012 ....
(Note : ALL the P6 Gals Present Cheered upon hearing this News! Ha Ha ....)
            πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

And, confirmed Offer is Valid as long as PSLE results qualify for express stream (No Need COP 260).

            And Finally,
RGS Open House is on this Sat 21 May 2011
            8am to 3pm.

            Hope this Helps ....
            :celebrate: :celebrate:
