Thank you for all the well wishes ! DD came out of the I terview quite disheartend, said she failed . They asked her wat s her strength and weaknesses and she said an avid reader like her is good on gk but xan be anti social at times so they told her if u want to be in ip Prog then u have to be sociable . She thought that was a bad answer to give . She was really upset abt the way she presented herself . Told her that she can always try the psle route and not get upset abt it 😞

Hi suecat...tell ur DD dun b disheartened. She is juz telling the truth abt herself n i'm sure they will not penalise her for that. Whatever the outcome will b, she has done her best n this is a valuable experience that many may not hv the chance.

As for the WL, quite a number of the ACSP GEP boys only got WL. Not sure about the exact number but it would seem that HAST really played a part in the selection. So school affiliation don't count, strictly on merit.

I am quite surprised. I have always thought the ACS affiliation thing is a major major factor. For ACSP GEP boys to get Waitlist only means the selection methodology is a lot more multi-faceted than meets the eye.

Quite a fair bit of the ACSP GEP only joined for the GEP and not real ACS thru and thru.
Maybe these are the ones given WL.

It was raining heavily this afternoon so parents drove to the sheltered foyer to drop and pick up their kids.

Saw a Porshe, few BMWs, some Mercs and Lexus in about half an hour while I was there.
All these elites maybe saving on school fees for their kids next year.

Hers is under GEP. Anyway, I've already taken it as a rejection : πŸ˜„

              Hi Lynn2010,

I didn't realize your dd's application was under GEP. So long as you haven't heard from the schools I suppose there's still a glimmer of hope. Did you hear back from MGS? Good luck!

Ya. After everyone rec'd CO fr RGS, i thought that's it for her. I called up the school about a week or more later, they said it is still pending - strange isnt it. I honestly think that the chance is slim. Other than being in GEP, she has no other achievement (hahaha). She's the Einstein style. Loves to dream.

MGS - i think we will know only end of next week. My DD1 rec'd the CO literally on the last day of the dateline (3 yrs ago). Does anyone receive news from MGS?

Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise as if she gets a CO, I'm worried she wont work hard for PSLE. Similarly when she got into GEP, she said \"I dont need to study anymore\". Yep, innocent and immature. Perhaps the layback environment that she was brought up with (in Aus) - I dont know.

Anyway, thanks for all the good wishes!!! And good luck to all parents whose kids are doing PSLE in a month's time!

Thanks ! I guess it was an experience for her as she s a real introvert! So told her that she has to focus on her psle now so that she can go into her dream sch on her merit!

In the past, only 140 to 150 were shortlisted for 2nd round. Will they increase the year 1 intake to 250 this year?

They are supposed to take in 250 for 2011 but in the end only took 210+
So let's see how is it for 2012.
Probably trying to solve the skewed girls : boys ration

                  Means this Year ....
                  Boys Got Better Chance ....
Or Gals Got Better Chance ? :?

If not, it'd be like what I saw at River Valley's String Ensemble during SYF this year. WHen I saw all those girls take their places, I thought it was a girls' school! Until I saw 2 boys come out. HAHA!

Really - so long? I don't remember my friends' kids having long delays to have their turn at interviews during my ds' time. My ds back then was thankfully the 1st one at 9am. Went in talked for 20mins and out - done.
