That got me confused. I thought that line was quite ambiguous, since the cut-off for the school was about 259 for the prev year. So to say \"eligible for course in our school\" - could it perhaps mean, must be eligible for what used to be known as the \"special\" stream, for which, they need 250 minimum.

So I emailed the school to clarify that statement. *whew*.... they replied to confirm that the child just needed to obtain 200 minimum to make good his/her DSA offer.

I've read other schools' offer letters. They state clearly \"meet Minimum of 200\", and some even state \"meet Minimum of 188\"(which is MOE's lowest guideline for Express Stream).

So maybe the school mentioned did mean 240+, but stated it in some ambiguous sentence that the applicants didn't think to clarify on.

Unless it is stated clearly in the Letter of Offer, there is no way the school can just simply INFORM them later. So maybe it was stated, but the girls didn't notice it or it was worded in a way that the girls(and their parents) didn't understand.

For that, I actually emailed the school and had them confirm in writing (email is fine too, but as long as it is written by the school).

Personally feels that the school has done parents and their kids a favor by rescinding their offers. Otherwise, many of these girls will be struggling to keep up.

But they should ALREADY have known that way ahead of time when they make out that Letter of Offer. I don't believe schools would ever make that kind of mistake. It must be stated. If not, the applicants must've read/understood the terms of the letter inaccurately.

JRLam's reply earlier says it clearly.

It is the school that decides and states their offers. Students will put in as to whether they accept and if all terms met, on PSLE results day, they will see that school on their results posting letter.

But if they are on Waiting List, even if they put that school as their school of choice when they exercise their DSA option, they still may not get the place. That is really up to the school. Students on Waitlist have no confirmed offer. Surely we cannot say it is the school backing out on their offer bc the school didn't make it confirmed.

Does it mean that if the kid achieve at least 80% in the school result, they can opt NOT to take GAT ???

I've seen one that states specifically \"minimum score for Express Stream 188\"

Actually Heard that they Offer DSA Sports to a Gal who Score PSLE 220 ....
