Hubby and I have spoken and we have decided that we should break the news to DS. Reasons:

      1. His classmates will start talking as some of them have already received news yesterday. This might cause more anxiety if no news for him.

      2. This is a small obstacle and he should learn to deal with rejection. Able to pull himself up and move forward in the face of adversity is what he should learn and experience. In future, there may be bigger / more obstacles whereby we are not around to \"protect\" (or hide from) him, so he should learn to be a stronger person.

We felt that he has been \"over-protected\" these years, and have not exactly experienced much adversity / disappointment (he is also too easily satisfied). We just to be very \"practical\" and \"factual\" about the situation and let him see the need to move on and do his best to achieve his dream. Let's hope it all works out!
Sorry to hear that. I agree with you to tell your DS. His schoolmates will have already be talking about it. Hope he will be a stronger boy after this, (It is really tough, they are only 12 years old boys, to have to go through all the anxiety and stress). All the best for his PSLE, and hope this will spur him to work harder to get into his dream school.
