Now DSA results for all the independent IP schools are out.

Only left NJC, DHS, RVH, all government schools.......

Phone call with good news for my boy first thing this morning. Nothing so exciting, not premier school, but comforting news nevertheless. I thought not to let him know so he won't be too \"proud\" of himself, but got to go for meeting tomorrow. ;(

:congrats: phankao and your ds! Getting a CO from any school is a good Achievement already ! :celebrate:

My ds scored 268 - 275(since p3- p6 ) he got 1st in his level every year in his school .I really dont understand why ri and hci rejected him . Anyone can explain ???

RI and HCI take in very few mainstream students via DSA so competition is very tough. Maybe his performance at the tests and interview weren't as strong as the others? Or perhaps he's very good in all subjects but not outstanding in one particular subject compared to the others? DSA is for those who demonstrate exceptional ability over and beyond their peers in a particular subject or sport. If your son is an all-rounder, as he probably is based on his excellent school results, he would have no problems getting in based on his PSLE. DSA is not for all-rounded students.

I'm sure your son will excel in his PSLE and get into his dream school that way. Good luck!

Jtoh , u have very strong analyze ability !!!
Thk u so much for the detail and advice .

School exam papers are not common and the difficulty level may vary. Some schools set tougher exam papers in some subjects. So it is not fair to depend on school results. So GAT test being common for all of them should be their first cut, followed by the child's profile whether he/she has national/international competition award. Prefect/no prefect nowadays also not 准 leh. I know some mainstreamers who were offered in the previous year via DSA to HCI. They are students who took part in bi-culture camp at P5, obtained a Gold/plat in SMOPS, the other one who is non of bi-culture or SMOPS awardee got offer and later posted to ispark, which mean GAT score is important. These students also have very good school exam track records but they are not the top, top one in their school.

What Mdm jtoh said is correct

Last year my DS also same situation, among the top in smops platinum ranking etc, got international awards in others cca, though he got HCI CO, he later used his psle to appeal in to RI, we got phone call from RI right after the psle result was submitted to RI

So please tell you son to cheong psle and aim for RI

Sure got hope, don’t forget the other half of RI intake is via psle
