      TwaTau:

Will that be one of your consideration? Since the building is still there, right?
That's over at the HCJC side , not the old Chinese High side.

it was the main block in HCJC that was declared unsafe, had to be torn down and rebuilt

as for the clock tower, the boys' favourite ghost stories during the orientation camp is to go there and talk ghosts

and by the way, only the top 4 class (sec 4) are eligible to use the classrooms at clock tower as their classroom....it is a prestige / entitlement thing for the top classes to be given the honour to occupy the historic classrooms
Oh vk2010 u are from HCJC too ?
Telling ghost stories at the towel block :nailbite: :nailbite: :nailbite: ... I am a scary cat .. Whenever my classmates tell any ghost stories during camping, I would either closed my ears or walk away :siam: πŸ˜‚

what is this 危ζ₯Ό thing u all have been talking about...curious to know πŸ˜‰

Back in the 80s, the main building of HCJC was declared unsafe, they had to abandon the campus and shifted around for a while until everything was fixed.

I didn't have to move around then. I attended lessons at the HCJC building at bukit timah. But the building was quite old though it was only about 10 years old ( i remember we celebrated 10 year anniversary or something like that). So I must be from pre-危ζ₯Ό era! :imcool:

                  Dear vlim

Sorry I not really understand what did u mean' STD variation and so forth...???
I just want to know usually what is the different btw prelim score and psle t-score ( just estimation)thks

The PSLE score is based on the following T-score formula.

                  Formula for T-Score
                  T = (50 + 10 (X – Y))/Z
X = Raw score of student in the subject
Y = Average or Mean Score of the level or cohort
Z = Standard Deviation (SD) of the level or cohort
Standard Deviation (SD) is the spread of the marks
                  around the average.

This is extracted from the following link:
                  http://www.edgefieldpri.moe.edu.sg/wbn/slot/u2208/Parents_Link/Understanding%20PSLE%20T-scores.pdf
That's why vlim was asking how you arrived at your child score. The school usually will release the min, max and the average, but so far I have not seen provision of SD to help you arrived at a t-score.

Wow, Tawtau, you very on leh.. did you go thru most of the schools website? That must be tough. πŸ˜“ πŸ˜‰

                  :thankyou: for the info! πŸ˜„

Back in the 80s, the main building of HCJC was declared unsafe, they had to abandon the campus and shifted around for a while until everything was fixed.

To be exact, the 危ζ₯Ό thing happened in 1st Qtr 1987. We first had to squat in Ngee Ann Poly for a few months, then from July 1987 onwards, we used a school in Woodlands. The site is now occupied by Qi Hua Pri School. Then in 1988, the school moved to Bukit Gombak, which is either the current St Anthony Pri School or Swiss Cottage....can't remember. Near the current driving centre.

Remember that it was 24 yrs ago, transport system in Singapore (especially Woodlands) was not so developed, not to mention the existence of MRT. So, we frequently had to hitchhike to shool.... and if going home from school, will try to longbang from teachers. Really need to ηˆ¬ε±±ζΆ‰ζ°΄to school.

When it was in Bukit Gombak, also not much better, especially we stayed in the old CCK. And last time, the current road between gombak and jalan teck whye is non existent. So, my sister had to take bus from CCK to upper Bt Timah, and then change another bus to Gombak. Was a huge unnecessary loop. Luckily by then, I have graduated.

Ok... you all know how old I am liao....
