DSA 2011

My son was interviewed by the team with the Discipline Mistress of NJC. For some answers, he was cut short in mid sentence and a new question was asked.
So we thought he was a real goner for the njc dsa, that was why i said the CO was unexpected. -

Hi Louis,
:congrats: Louis!Louis:
This is the first time I make posting on KSP. I have been following this thread for sometime to receive good advices.
Just receive letter from DHS, my DS is on WL. Dont know the actual chance, so advice him to work hard on PSLE. :nailbite:
There will B some Kids who get Multiple CO, WL, ....
So your WL still Stand a Good Chance!
Sista Funx3 is absolutely right!
My DD recvd COs from DHS & NYGH. We will most likely take up the offer @NYGH. So, here's one :congrats: & best of luck! :rahrah:

I really don't know how much weightage the interviews hold.My son was interviewed by the team with the Discipline Mistress of NJC. For some answers, he was cut short in mid sentence and a new question was asked.

There were so many different panels and interview time can range from 10 min to 45 min. -

Thanks phankao, that settles it then. At least I don't have to run down twice to check the mailbox tomo.
Quite long already. Since 15 May 2010. Over the weekends, their postboxes get filled to the brim!!! And then mails get delayed - rarely ever \"next-day\" delivery anymore despite what their postboxes CLAIM. UNLESS you register the mail.ngbrdad:
Ya lor.
Since when did they stop postal delivery on Sat ?

For P6 GEP, roughly how many percents of students have results > 80%? Thanks.

ngbrdad:
hi ngbrdad, is your DS on RI WL? if so, i sincerly hope your DS will join RI next year as NJC's dsa procedures seem a little messy & disorganised (& unfair?), from what i have read in this forum.

Not sure, but I have done some simple calculation . There are estimated about 320-330 x P6 GEP boys in year 2011.
1)\tAssume 90%++ have applied for RI. So Est. 300 GEP boys have applied to RI
2)\tRI has about 175 seat for GEP Students
3)\tTo my understanding there are few cases of GEP boys who scored low end of 80% were awarded WL for RI
4)\tSo I assume that there are more than 175 GEP boys scored more than 80% for their SA1
5)\tThere are total about 450 primary 6 GEP students in year 2011. Including those P6 GEP girls, I believe there are more than 50% of the total cohort scored more than 80% for SA1.
However, you might not agree with me.
My DS scored 77.x% for his SA1. Applied DSA to RI, HCI and ASCI. Got rejected from RI and HCI. WL for ACSI. The DSA journey was quite painful for my DS. Take sometime for him to get over it.
Well, I guess this is the price to pay for not scoring >80% and hoping to get DSA to the top boy’s school via DSA.

Bad it will be good to have a CO to feel safe.
