Funx3:
Heard RGS will eventually move to somewhere near RJC. So may have new compound afterall......Buzydad:
Went to open house at HCI and RI ....
Ha Ha ....
My turn to Report, Pen88n!
But for the Female Version ....

Went to Open House at NYGH and RGS ....
Did Not have much time to spend, as we have to cover both sch within one Morning. So did not attend the talk ....
I'm Equally impressed with Both Sch's Programme, Set up, CCA's, the sch's team of student Ambassadors in their reception, tour, handling of Parents queries and response ....
But One Glaring disparity is the Spanking New environment and Large, open space in NYGH ....
Vs ....
The Cramp, and Lack of Space (esp Sch Field, Canteen, Hall) in RGS ....
And Overheard One Parent is Very turn off by the Toilets in RGS ....
Of Course, at the current location of RGS, Not much can be done about it where space is concern ....
After the Brief open House Visit this morning, Both My Gal and I Agree that Both Sch R Good. Being Able to Study in either one is a Privilege ....
So We will proceed with our plan to try DSA for both Sch ....
:celebrate: :celebrate:
NYGH has very impressive school compound. Only set-back is Bukit Timah area jam and flood may sometimes pose issues.
Both are gd gal's sch, so either will be a gd choice! With your DD's outstanding CCA, should be no prob! Gd luck! -

Chief, you never know! He may be so inspired and also possibly some kids start to wise up and \"see light\" nearer PSLE time!
Lolz. It's going to be pretty challenging for him to get in... I'm just hoping that the visit could spark something in him.vlim:
Other then the fruit punch drinks that run out so fast .... They have prepared very sufficient amount of food for the visitors and their teachers and students Helpers.....
So chief, is hcl your son first choice? If RI and HCI are abt equal distance from my house, I think I really got to think hard which one to choose :scratchhead: :scratchhead: -

I was at the HCI open house with my son too today too
. The buffet was edible... cannot complain since it was free
I was impressed with the Sec 1 students reading their self-written scripts. Very good indeed.
All in all, a good event. I told my son that if he wanted to join the NCC, he would be doing another 6 years of National Service

Ermm, Chief, I thought your DS hasn't even entered Pri 1? Yet you are bringing him for Open House? Wow, you really live up to your title, CHIEF KIASU.

Hi, we went to NYGH and RGS today.
We spent about 3 hours plus in NYGH as we visited their library, Lab room and dd manage to do some experiment there. They also showed us the i-pad that they use for the 2 Secondary one classes this year.
We meet quite a few of the Secondary 1 students and they were very friendly and share with us some of their orientation program and how they handle the transitions from P6 to Secondary one.
Due to the heavy traffic we reached RGS at 1 plus and perhaps we were tired at that time and we just stay about 15 minutes and went off.
This above is our experience today. -
ChiefKiasu:
Sounds familiar...I'm waiting for that from my DS too :nailbite: Keep :xedfingers: that it will be soon we see that and need toPen88n:
