A lot of schools go on recruitment drives to entice students from China, Vietnam etc to Singapore these days. They're given scholarships with no bonds.

Hi vlim,
:offtopic: but I need to get your attention.
I got the 2011 P6 Maths Prelim paper for Rosyth School but no answers were given. Is it possible for you to provide the answers for this Maths paper in KSP forum?
TIA. -

Yours got premier schools already. No basis for complaints.

No big deal. Majority of us have kids NOT in premier schools, unlike the majority in this thread of discussion. What to do?

What to do?[/quote]dear phankao, if i dont recall wrongly, your DS3 is currently schooling at Catholic High Primary School, isn't he? who says CHS is not a 'premier' school? and what makes you think that majority of the parents in this thread are from premier schools?

just becoz our kids are from GEP does not mean that we are any different from you. in fact, we are all the same.. ks parents who work hard to give the best to our kids.. parents who are here to share what we know.. and parents who are here to learn from each other.
so, please do not belittle yourself or your DS just becoz he is not from GEP or from your so-called 'premier' school. can't help but noticed that no parents in this forum draw a line between GEP parents & non-GEP parents, as clearly as you do.
so, please stop being so 'sour' always (and rude sometimes), and spoil the mood of the friendly discussions going on here. no offence please, phankao.. just my humble opinion. -
dear phankao,
when reach A level and when come to selection to award students for overseas scholarship, you be surprised that majority of them who got awarded are the non Gepers. Yes, Gepers also receive, but majority who receive are non Gepers.
the road ahead is still very long, very far. No one knows what's going to happen, when reach final destination.
at Secondary 1 starting line - when the pistol fire into the air loudly 'Piang' and shout 'Run' the race, all the Gepers and non-Gepers run together very fast on the track side by side, heading towards destination. However, along the way:-
i) some getting very tired, stressed out.
they decide to take a breather, take a rest, sit down by the path to rest for a while, before pick up strength to resume running again.
ii) some still continue to run at steady speed momentum, powered by 3Cs (the key):-
character, consistency and competency.
6 yrs ahead is very far ....
i personally know of a 20 year old boy. His PSLE score was only 201 (barely cross the express stream hurdle) - definitely not a Geper, and studied in an ulu, remote neighbourhood Secondary school, unheard of. But today, he is awarded an overseas scholorship to US by a prominent famous foreign bank - where all his fees, accomodation are all provided for.
the main thing is ... how you END at the finishing line that matters, not so much the starting point.
