This year, P5 will finish their exam on 13th Oct 2011, before PSLE Marking day! Last year was before too! Oral starting this week, Math Investigation paper next week.

there are two appeal periods :

        (1) if already gotten DSA confirmed offers, appeals is on PSLE result day or immediately after it – around Nov 24 ? many people recall last time I was against this appeal because it is against principle of a committed decision. but since all the schools are facilitating the transfer and appeal, I am no longer against it

        (2) if there was no DSA offers, and Sec one school choice is via S1 Posting exercise, the appeal is immediately after the release of the posting result, which is Dec 21 this year

so the best holiday period is between PSLE result day and posting result day, assuming there are other kids having to take EOY exams…

vk2010, you mean when the child has accepted Sch A CO on 28th Oct, then change mind upon receiving PSLE result. The child has to appeal to Sch B (I believe have to check with Sch B on appeal process) immediately after PSLE result? Do you know when will the result of appeal be informed?

the result will be made known asap, according to the schools. reason being they want to free up the slots for the WL asap. some got the appeal result by a phone call less than 24 hours after submission, some have to wait a couple of days....some waited all the way till S1 posting date ....some after posting date ..... i suspect there is a ranking for those who are on appeals

the \"top\" ip schools said it this way : \"the process starts with us and trickle down, so that the slots can be given to others on the wait list asap, our schools will co-ordinate......\"

I think the first one refers to the Supplementary Intake Exercise

This is from the RI website.

              Post-PSLE Central Posting Consultation
The PSLE results will be released on 24 November 2011 (Thursday). To help Primary 6 boys and their families better understand the Central Posting Exercise, we would be providing consultation services on the following days:

              24 November 2011 Thursday (12 noon – 5pm)
              25 November 2011 Friday (9am – 5pm)

Supplementary Intake Exercise for Admission to Year 1

The Supplementary Intake Exercise for Primary 6 students will be held from 24 November 2011 at 12 noon to 22 December 2011 at 2pm. This exercise is open to students who were unsuccessful in the Direct School Admissions Exercise or who are not posted to Raffles Institution under the Central Posting Exercise.

every school hopes to attract the best students, that is why they are willing to co-ordinate the appeals and transfers even though MOE says …but in any case the independent schools have 100% discretion on admission

Yes. Appeal immediately after you get your PSLE results.
