every school hopes to attract the best students, that is why they are willing to co-ordinate the appeals and transfers even though MOE says …but in any case the independent schools have 100% discretion on admission

I think the first one refers to the Supplementary Intake Exercise

This is from the RI website.

        Post-PSLE Central Posting Consultation
The PSLE results will be released on 24 November 2011 (Thursday). To help Primary 6 boys and their families better understand the Central Posting Exercise, we would be providing consultation services on the following days:

        24 November 2011 Thursday (12 noon – 5pm)
        25 November 2011 Friday (9am – 5pm)

Supplementary Intake Exercise for Admission to Year 1

The Supplementary Intake Exercise for Primary 6 students will be held from 24 November 2011 at 12 noon to 22 December 2011 at 2pm. This exercise is open to students who were unsuccessful in the Direct School Admissions Exercise or who are not posted to Raffles Institution under the Central Posting Exercise.

        You are right.

        :thankyou: MandyMummy & vks2010!!!!!

Yes. Appeal immediately after you get your PSLE results.

This year the release of S1 posting results is on 21 Dec 2011 and pupils are to report to secondary schools for registration on 22 Dec 2011 at 8.30 am.

Good good. Mine's going on a trip with school and back just day before posting results so should be fine to report to school on 22 Dec 2011. Just nice.

Hi, phankao, where is your ds going? Most school trips end in Nov for P6 students. Just curious. 😄[/quote]It's not a p6 trip. It's a CCA exchange programme for pri and sec together. Winter!

You could be rejected by RI but received a CO from another school and now wish to appeal to RI via your PSLE results.

yes appeal immediately after PSLE result because the school has your DSA application info

if the school you appeal to accepts you before the S1 submission deadline, then may be you don't need to submit S1 at all ?? The school will be able to advise you on this.

this is assuming zero CO from all DSA efforts, but with very good psle result .... may be among the top .....

But if your T score is above the cop for the school, just apply thru S1 will do right ? Why need so much trouble.

Unless it's like the t score is below cop by one or 2 points. Previously given WL but no CO thru DSA.
Then appeal at that time makes sense.

The COP for the year won't be known at the time so some people may just want to play it safe by appealing rather than risking it through S1 Central Posting.
